Exciting news! The school garden and polytunnel are now organised and ready for our garden school in September. The forest area has also been cleared and a fire circle has been made ready for the launch of forest school soon.

An ice cream parlour engaged the minds of Hilltop today. They decided what they would need and helped create a list of jobs. They soon set to work, writing signs and labels for the different flavours. Later they made cones and tissue paper balls for ice cream flavours. One child decided we needed rainbow lollies too. These were provided and a second round of business evolved.
Children loved role playing shopkeepers and customers. One child realised we needed money and suggested counters. Lots of communication about favourite flavours on the customer bench too! So much learning happening from this activity.

We are very excited to see our school garden starting to take shape. We would like to say a big thank you to Haven Lakeland Holiday Park for their amazing time and energy spent on a very hot day, constructing our new polytunnel.
We would also like to thank Peter Lambeth and family for the topsoil donation. Your support will make a big difference to our children and enable them to enjoy growing and gardening outdoors.
Gardening club members can’t wait to get using it soon.

What a fantastic Sports Day! The children coped really well with the heat and encouraged each other beautifully. Thank you to Friends of flookburgh school for the interval refreshments and Mrs Horne for organising the event.

Just a reminder that parents are welcome to bring sunshades/deck chairs/ picnic blanket for sports day tomorrow from 12:45. ⛱️

Children can come to school wearing their house colour T-shirts and PE shorts. There will also be water stations outside, so please ensure that your child has a water bottle and a cap.☀️
