πŸ”¦ Youth SVP spotlight πŸ”¦

Time to share the work of our Youth SVP members of .

During Lent, one of our Youth SVP Conferences in embraced opportunities to pray, fast, give, and spend time together. From sharing soup to taking part in sponsored walks, they discovered that Lent is not only about personal sacrifice but also about building community and caring for those around them.

One theme ran through everything they did: listening. Through simple conversations, shared experiences, and moments of reflection, the school community learned to recognise those who might be feeling lonely or overlooked. Small acts of kindness, a friendly smile, or taking the time to listen.

πŸ†βœ¨ Celebrating Excellence and Our GRACE Values βœ¨πŸ†

Today, we were delighted to present just over 300 awards to pupils who have consistently demonstrated our GRACE values across each subject throughout the year. These awards recognise the dedication, kindness, resilience and positive attitudes that make our school community so special.

A huge congratulations to every award winner – you should all be incredibly proud of your achievements! πŸ‘

We would also like to celebrate the recipients of our Community Awards:

🌟 Year 7 – Max, for being an outstanding role model to others.

🌟 Year 8 – Isla and Ella, for the kindness and compassion they have shown in welcoming new pupils into our school community.

🌟 Year 9 – Nathan and Hannah, in recognition of their fantastic participation and commitment to the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

🌟 Year 10 – Alfie and Lola, for being exceptional role models for our pupils. Alfie was also recognised for his outstanding contribution to the Catholic Life of the School, while Lola received her award for her dedicated service to the local church.

We couldn't be prouder of every single one of our pupils. Thank you for making our school such a positive, caring and inspiring place to learn.

What a fantastic way to end the school year! πŸ’™πŸ’›

Today, our top 30 pupils from each year group who earned the most Tokens of Grace this academic year were treated to a well-deserved ice cream in the sunshine! 🌞

It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying some time outdoors with a cool treat as we celebrated their hard work, positive attitudes and commitment throughout the year.

We even had a special visitor join the celebrations... our friendly visiting cat couldn't resist getting in on the action! 🐱🍦

This Wednesday, our Year 10 pupils swapped the classroom for the crime scene as they took part in Hotel Homicide – an exciting murder mystery challenge!

Working in teams, our budding detectives solved clues, cracked codes and analysed evidence to uncover the identity of the murderer. Along the way, they demonstrated excellent critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills, using the evidence they gathered to justify their conclusions.

A huge congratulations to our winning team – Alfie, Bradley and Riley – for cracking the case! πŸ†πŸ‘

What a fantastic way to bring problem-solving and analytical skills to life in English!

🌊⚑ Our Year 8 students recently took part in an inspiring series of workshops exploring the exciting world of offshore wind energy.

Led by Deborah Wood from Flotation Energy, the sessions gave students a fantastic insight into how offshore wind farms generate renewable electricity, the engineering behind these impressive structures, and the vital role they play in creating a more sustainable future.

A huge thank you to Deborah and Flotation Energy for delivering such engaging and informative workshops and for inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers and environmental innovators.

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Our New Student Leadership Team! πŸŽ‰

A huge congratulations to Amelie, Aara, Noah and Alfie on being elected as Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl, Head Boy and Deputy Head Boy for the next academic year at Cardinal Allen! πŸ‘

This year's selection process was incredibly competitive, with a significant number of applicants. Following interviews with the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher, shortlisted candidates progressed to the final stage, where they presented their vision for the school through a video shown to the entire year group. Staff and pupils then cast their votes to help choose our new student leaders.

We are delighted to appoint four exceptional students to these prestigious roles. Their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to our school community have already been evident, and we are confident they will continue to be outstanding ambassadors for Cardinal Allen.

We wish Amelie, Aara, Noah and Alfie every success in their new roles and look forward to seeing all they achieve over the coming year.

Congratulations once again! πŸŒŸπŸ’™
