This morning our Toddlers were delighted to spot the first signs of Autumn on their morning walk. There was lots of excitement as the children collected pine cones, noticing their different shapes, sizes and textures.

Back at nursery, the children used their pine cones for a wonderfully creative mark‑making activity. They explored how the cones moved and rolled, watching the different patterns they made as they travelled through paint and down a pipe, and then experimented with rolling them across paper to see what marks they could create.

Simple natural treasures, big curiosity, and plenty of joyful learning 🍂🫟🌿

This afternoon we embraced the rain during our Forest School session and turned puddle jumping into a colourful adventure!

The children took turns sprinkling powder paint into the puddles before splashing, jumping, and watching the colours swirl and mix. They were fascinated by how the water changed as they moved, noticing new shades appear with every stomp and splash.

On the ground, the children explored the powder paint further, creating bright footprints and experimenting with different ways of moving to leave their marks. There was so much curiosity as they compared patterns, shapes, and colours.

To finish, we gently placed paper over the painted ground and lifted it up to reveal the beautiful prints and patterns they had made. The children were so excited to see their colourful artwork appear!

This rainy‑day session was full of exploration, creativity, sensory learning, and joyful messy play — a perfect example of how outdoor experiences spark imagination and support early development 🌧️🫟🌿

At The Enchanted Forest, we have had a wonderfully busy start to the new term as we welcome lots of new children into our nursery family. It has been so lovely watching them settle in so confidently, building relationships with their key people, and already sharing plenty of happy moments together. The rooms have been filled with curiosity, play, and those first sparks of new friendships — a truly heart‑warming start to the week for us all! 🌿

As we waved goodbye to the last of our 2026 School Leavers this afternoon, we wanted to take a moment to wish each and every one of them the biggest good luck for their exciting adventure ahead as they start school next week. 🌟

It has been an absolute pleasure to be part of their journey — watching them grow in confidence, build friendships, and discover the world in their own unique ways. We know they will continue to thrive in everything they do, and we couldn’t be prouder of the wonderful little people they have become.

Here’s to new beginnings, big smiles, and the next chapter of learning ✨🌿

Last night our wonderful staff team came together for our monthly staff meeting, ready to step into an incredibly busy new term next week. We focused on teamwork and communication — two things that make such a difference to the calm, happy days your children experience.

To put these skills into action, the team took part in a fun ‘Three Little Pigs’ challenge. There was plenty of healthy competition, problem‑solving and lots of laughter as everyone worked together. Moments like these remind us how lucky we are to have such a dedicated, creative and supportive staff team who always bring their best for our children and families.

This morning, the children enjoyed exploring our nature garden and collecting a variety of natural resources to use in our outdoor kitchen. They were full of curiosity as they investigated their finds and turned them into lots of imaginative pretend foods.

The children also had the chance to use real tools, carefully hammering an apple to see what was inside. This hands‑on challenge helped them build hand‑eye coordination, strength and fine motor control while learning how to use tools safely and with care.

It was wonderful to see everyone working together, sharing ideas and using their imaginations as they explored the garden and outdoor kitchen — supporting their social skills, confidence and creativity through play 🍎🥣🌿
