⚽🌍 A Little World Cup Fun! 🌍⚽

With the World Cup starting, we’ll be bringing a little football-themed fun into our days over the next few weeks.

For our babies and toddlers, this might look like exploring balls of different sizes, practising kicking, rolling and throwing, enjoying stories and songs, getting creative with colours and flags, and plenty of opportunities for movement and play.

Our preschoolers will be extending their learning through conversations about different countries, flags and cultures, as well as taking part in team games, simple challenges and creative activities inspired by the tournament.

It’s always lovely to use events happening around us as inspiration for play and conversation, and i’m looking forward to seeing what captures the children’s attention! 😊⚽🌎

We were very excited to pick the strawberries we have grown ourselves! 🍓 After collecting them, the children washed them and talked about how fruit grows. A wonderful sensory experience and a tasty reward for all their hard work.

🌻 Sunflower Planting Fun! 🌻

Yesterday the children enjoyed getting their hands dirty as they planted sunflower seeds in their very own pots! 🌱 They carefully filled the pots with compost, planted the seeds, and gave them a gentle watering. This activity helped develop their fine motor skills, patience, and understanding of how plants grow.

Now comes the exciting part—watching them sprout and grow over the coming weeks! We can’t wait to measure our sunflowers and see whose grows the tallest. 🌻☀️

A little sad news from our caterpillar journey 🐛💔

Out of our five caterpillars, sadly four died and only one made it to the chrysalis stage. We don’t think our remaining chrysalis is going to hatch into a butterfly, which is disappointing for us all.

Even though we didn’t get the ending we hoped for, the children have learned so much about life cycles, caring for living things, and how nature doesn’t always follow the plan we expect.

A valuable lesson, even if it wasn’t the happy ending we were hoping for. 💚
