πŸ”¬ At St Nicholas School, science is an integral part of the curriculum from the earliest years, giving all pupils the opportunity to explore the world around them through practical investigation and independent enquiry.

In the Senior School, from Year 7, pupils benefit from specialist teaching and dedicated weekly lessons in the separate sciences of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, building a strong foundation for future scientific study.

This expert-led approach equips pupils with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to pursue either Triple Science or Combined Science GCSEs, achieving excellent results year after year.

Whichever pathway they choose, our pupils develop the confidence, curiosity and problem-solving skills that open doors to further study and exciting career opportunities in STEM and beyond.

πŸŽ‰ GCSE Success for the Class of 2026

Congratulations to our outstanding Class of 2026 on their fantastic GCSE results, achieving our strongest set of top grades in the past two years, with nearly 60% of pupils gaining 10 or more GCSEs.

⭐ 52% of all grades awarded were 7-9
⭐ 73% of all grades awarded were 6-9
⭐ 88% of all grades awarded were 5-9
⭐ 96% of all grades awarded were 4-9

These impressive results reflect the collective ambition, dedication and resilience of our pupils. Behind every grade is a story of perseverance, growth and hard work, supported by the encouragement of teachers, families and friends throughout their GCSE years.

"While we celebrate these excellent results, what makes me most proud is the journey each pupil has taken to reach this point. Every pupil has discovered new strengths and achieved goals that are personally meaningful to them. These results represent far more than grades alone; they reflect the confidence, determination and character our pupils have developed along the way. We are delighted to celebrate every individual's success today and look forward to seeing all they will accomplish in the future." Dr Wright, Headmistress

As we look forward to celebrating the GCSE results of our Class of 2026 tomorrow, we are delighted to reflect on the achievements of our Class of 2024 alumni and the exciting destinations they are now embarking upon.

What makes these accomplishments even more special are the reflections shared by our alumni families. Their testimonies beautifully capture the ethos of St Nicholas' and the importance of the strong foundations laid during a pupil's time at the School. Beyond academic success, families often tell us how our pupils leave with qualities that serve them throughout their lives: good manners, confidence, resilience and the ability to communicate effectively and speak with assurance in public.

As we prepare to celebrate another cohort of GCSE results, we are reminded that success is about so much more than grades alone. It is about nurturing confident, capable young women who are ready to embrace the opportunities ahead.

To every member of the Class of 2024, congratulations. Whether your journey has taken you to university, an apprenticeship, a gap year, elite sport, or another exciting destination, we are incredibly proud of all that you have achieved and all that lies ahead. πŸ’™
