Year R have been inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s famous Sunflowers painting and have created their own beautiful masterpieces. 🌻🎨

Their wonderful artwork is proudly displayed in our corridor and looks absolutely fantastic, brightening up the space for everyone to enjoy. We are so proud of our talented young artists! ✨💛

🌿✨ What a fantastic first afterschool Forest School session ✨🌿

The children fully immersed themselves in every activity, showing so much enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork throughout the afternoon. We enjoyed bug hunting, den building, getting creative with chalk, whipping up all sorts of wonderful concoctions in the mud kitchen, and building and exploring together.

Is your child starting with us in September?

Join Fleet Library on Monday 22nd June at 10.30am for a special FREE Story Time Session, followed by Stay and Play.

This is a wonderful opportunity for children to meet some of their future classmates and for parents and carers to connect with other families before the school year begins.

🏃🐯 The Tavistock Tigers are READY! 🐯🏃

Our Tavistock Tigers have been practising, practising, and practising for their District Sports event this Friday, and they are excited to put all their hard work into action!

We are so proud of their effort and commitment, and we know they will represent Tavistock Infant School with pride. Whether they bring home ribbons or simply do their best, they are already champions in our eyes!

Let’s give our Tigers lots of encouragement and wish them the very best for Friday.

Rabbit Class released 4 of their butterflies today! One butterfly is still very cosy and content inside its cocoon and will hopefully hatch by tomorrow or Friday.

The butterflies were a little shy at first, but soon discovered their incredible wings and took flight. We had a special moment carefully handling two butterflies who were a little less brave to fly straight away. The weather was perfect for their release and there are plenty of beautiful hydrangeas nearby for them to enjoy. Come back soon to visit, butterflies!

Over the past 4 weeks, the children have patiently observed the butterflies and have learnt so much about their fascinating life cycle. Well done Rabbit Class for taking such wonderful care of them!

What an amazing day at Tavistock Infant School’s May Fair today! 🎉

A huge thank you to the incredible TAFF team for organising such a fantastic event, and to all the wonderful volunteers who gave their time to help make the day so special. Thank you as well to everyone who came along and supported the fair — it was lovely to see so many families and smiling faces enjoying the day together. 💛

Today the Year R children created their very own rock shop! They collected rocks from around the area, cleaned them carefully using brushes and sieves, and then sent them down the gully once they were ready to be displayed in the shop. Leaves and sticks became their currency as they bought and sold the rocks to one another. The shop became incredibly busy with long queues forming, plenty of trading taking place, and lots of “money” being made! A fantastic day of imaginative play, teamwork, and outdoor learning. 🪨🍃

Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 had a fantastic time taking part in a Maypole dancing workshop today. The children learned about the history of Maypole dancing before learning and performing a simple routine together. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in and having fun.
