This week is Mental Health week and the theme this year is 'Take Action'
We started the week talking about how we feel and what we can do to help ourselves and our friends feel happy.
Lots of conversations about going to the beach, going to the park, having a cuddle with our mummy’s and daddy’s.
We focused on things you can do to improve your mental health...
We got creative, with lots of different resources.
We explored our outside area, by going on a nature hunt and getting closer to nature.
We listened to different music and talked about how it made us feel.
We got moving each morning with lots of wiggling and giggling.
We were kind and tried hard to be good friends.
We can sometimes have big emotions, finding ways to help regulate these is tricky but we always know there is someone there to support us.
Be kind..keep on talking…look out for each other.
If you are struggling just taking one small step can really help.

Physical Development week and our annual sports day.

This week we have been taking part in a variety of physical activities together. We enjoyed sports day with the support from our children’s parents and families. Who were amazing, cheering on and positively encouraging the children’s participation.
We completed an obstacle course, supporting physical development as children climb, balance, crawl, and jump their way through the course. It helps to build strength, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness.
We listened to our bodies, the children put their hands on their chests to feel their heartbeats. They were excited to notice how fast their hearts were beating, with lots of descriptive language.
This helped them begin to understand how exercise affects their bodies in a fun and meaningful way.
To end the week we have taken part in a yoga session which the children and staff showed fantastic poses. Well done to all!

🚑 🚒 🚓 People who help us and stranger danger
This week we have focused on people who help us, we have done this through role play, small world, books, arts and crafts, sensory play and listening skills.
Police - We got creative looking at our fingerprints and made our own unique patterns.
We had some lovely discussions about how the police help us everyday and what to do if we need help.
Fire- We used water sprays to put out the painted fire. We wore a real fire officers uniform and discussed why they wear them and how it feels.
We drew fire engine pictures choosing the correct colours.
Paramedics, doctors and nurses-
We talked about ambulances and how they help us, the children showed great knowledge as we spoke together as a group.
We looked at X-rays and made our own X-ray using chalks.
Coast guards- we role played sea rescue, the children worked together to help rescue the little people stuck in the gloopy sea

This week the children have been celebrating Earth Day through a range of activities focused on caring for our planet. They created their own painted versions of the Earth.

We explored the garden on a bug hunt, using lots of descriptive language to talk about the insects they discovered. 🐞 🐛

Throughout the week we have explored different environments, sparking curiosity, imagination and learning about the incredible world we live in.🌎
