Some of my students have said they struggle with memorising their music, and to be fair this is not always easy to do.

So why memorise your music? It helps in understanding and interpreting the music and, if you're in a rock band you cannot dance around as if possessed while trying to read a score...

So I put a few tips together for them - and you too- if you follow the link.

So we are are nearly back......... So just to let you know I am resuming face-face lessons this month. Although I am very glad to be getting back to normality there remains the risk of covid-19 transmission and we must take this seriously. Therefore as part of that process I am introducing a Covid-19 risk assessment -

The majority of this is for me to do in the studio, however there are a couple of items for the student to be aware of:

1. Could you please email/Text that you (or student if under 18) is free from symptoms and has not knowingly been in contact with an infected person and is self-isolating in the last week prior to the lesson.

2. Ensure that the student brings all the equipment that they need for the lesson including instrument, tuner and music as required.


3. If the student wishes to wear a mask please to bring one. Hand-sanitiser will be provided.
