What is Creative Wilding I hear you say?

It’s a term I created for a process of noticing gathering exploring and creating it comes from something.

I really believe that we’re all born creative somewhere along the way a lot of us were told, or decided, that we’re not and usually because we can’t draw something to look exactly like it does in real life.

But art isn’t about that. It’s about making marks playing with colour enjoying texture and noticing the world around you without the pressure of it being “good”

That’s what my evening of creative Wilding is all about…

📍 The Creative Space, Brightwells Yard, Farnham
📅 Tuesday 20th October
🥂 Bubbles (or a non-alcoholic version) on arrival, tea and coffee throughout
🎨 A large collaborative artwork, made together with music and no pressure
📓 A handmade booklet to take home, with a cover made from the artwork

No experience needed.
No need to be able to draw.
Just come as you are.

How about doing something a little different instead?

An evening away from the usual routine, trying something new, getting creative, having a drink and enjoying a bit of time just for yourself.

That’s exactly what my Evening of Creative Wilding is all about.

We’ll be exploring different creative materials, experimenting, making one huge piece of art and generally having a lovely time.

It’s relaxed, sociable and you don’t need any creative experience to join in.

Come on your own or bring a friend. Everyone is welcome!

* Tea, coffee and nibbles throughout the evening

One of the things I hear most often when I talk about creativity is “Oh, I’m not creative. I can’t draw!”

But since when did being creative mean being able to draw something that looks exactly like the real thing?
You can make marks, explore colour, experiment with materials, create patterns, shapes and textures.
There’s no single definition of what art has to look like.

And that’s Creative Wilding is…
It’s about exploring, experimenting and enjoying the experience of making something, without feeling that there’s a particular result you’re supposed to achieve.
