At Vivace Music School, we follow the Kodály approach to music education, building strong musical foundations through singing, movement, rhythm games and playful, age-appropriate activities.

Just like climbing a staircase 🪜, children learn one step at a time. Every song, rhythm and game builds on the last. We repeat activities regulary because repetition helps children develop confidence, deepen their understanding and remember what they've learned.

These musical "building blocks" help children to:

🌞🎶 A huge thank you to everyone who came to our Summer Music Sessions yesterday and on Monday! 💛

It was lovely making music with so many of you, seeing babies, toddlers and school-age children all move to the music, find their voices and get creative! 🎵👶🧒💃🕺

We had a fantastic time:

🐒 Meeting lots of jungle creatures and exploring how they move
🦖 Digging for dinosaur fossils, reading their tracks and making up our own rhythms
🥤 Creating our own cup games à la Anna Kendrick and inventing our own code to write down the moves! 🎶👏

🌞 Happy Summer Holidays to all our wonderful Vivace families! 🎉

As another fantastic year comes to an end, we'd like to say a huge thank you for being part of our musical community. 💛

It's been such a joy watching the children grow in confidence, creativity and musicianship throughout the year. From singing and dancing to discovering new instruments during Instrument Week, every class has been filled with smiles, and beautiful music. 🎶

☀️ Before we return on Monday 7th September, don't forget we're running our FREE Summer Music Sessions at Hart Shopping Centre on 27th & 28th July.

🎵 Parents of kids aged 7–10 – are you looking for a FREE fun & energetic activity to break up the summer holidays? ☀️ Join us on 27th & 28th July at the Hart Shopping Centre for our "Create Your Own Cup Game" workshop! 🥤🎶

Taking inspiration from Anna Kendrick's When I'm Gone 🎤, we'll explore music through exciting cup percussion patterns 🥁 and work together to create our own choreographed routine using our imagination and simple resources like cups 🥤, sticks 🪵 and balls ⚽.

Our students who went to the Instrument Zoo a couple of weeks ago absolutely loved it! If you or your child missed it, here's another chance to explore starting to play instruments.

On a personal note, my daughter recently joined one of the ensembles, which run on Wednesday afternoons at Wavell, and I have to say, I'm so impressed! My daughter absolutely loves it, there's a lovely camaraderie in her ensemble. It's also great hearing the super-energetic Taiko drumming walking by, and it's all run by very special people. Keep it up!

Thank you to all of those who turned up to our Instrument Zoo on Saturday at the West End Centre. It was an amazing afternoon; seeing such huge smiles and little dances as children managed to get a good sound out was truly heart-warming!
