This week we have been talking and looking at each other's feelings and emotions. We have spoken lots about how certain things can make us and our friends feel.
We have enjoyed lots of different Valentines ❤️sensory play and creative activities using different tools and resources working on our fine motor skills through mark making and filling and emptying containers using pipettes and cups, as well as a few favourites such as the small world toys. We have not let the wet weather stop us from enjoying the outdoors either during Forest School, we have enjoyed painting 'Friendship rocks' and making 'Love Heart Wands' and pictures with charcoal, painting using some coloured ice and creating our own 'Love Potions' and generally getting messy 😁!

This week we have been looking at 'Winter'. We have spoken about the weather and what we may do and wear when it is cold and wet as well as icy and snowing.

We have enjoyed some lovely activities involving being creative and decorating our own wooly hat pictures and snowflakes, counting out how many pom pom's we need on the gloves and creating our own wintery scenes using the play-dough and the animals we may find in colder climates. We have also adapted these activities to meet children's interests to help with their next steps. We have shared some wintery stories and the children have had a go at creating their own. During Forest school we have helped feed the birds making bird feeders and made our own binoculars to see if we can spot any.

Big Welcome back to you all and our new families joining us this term.

This week we have been looking at 'all about me' creating our own personal portraits and talking about our individual differences. We have been looking at what new skills the children have learnt over the Christmas break and what new interest they have and how we can support their next steps.
It has been lovely to see how well they have all settled back and got straight back into investigating and creating together.

We have had some fun festive activities from decorating our own baubles, making our own snowflakes, our festive themed play dough bakery, creating our own Christmas trees and imaginative play with the Nativity scene. We had a lovely time at our Christmas party which we enjoyed sharing with our Families.

This week amongst the usual fun we get up to we have been revisiting kindness for kindness week. We have spoken lots about our 'Golden Rules' and how we are kind to one another and how we make our friends feel and how they make us feel. We had the tea set out and made a 'cup of kindness' and made our own emotion faces. We have also had some lovely activities to celebrate Remembrance day making Poppy prints and counting the pompoms to match the number Poppies whilst using the tweezers to work on those fine motor skills. We also carried out our 2 minute silence whilst watching the Cbebbies Remembrance Day short.

We have focused on our fine motor and mark making skills making our own firework patterns, working on our counting skills and number recognition with rockets, being creative making our own firework pictures and painting the ice into a colourful firework pattern. During Forest School we enjoyed making our own mini guys (no guys were harmed this bonfire week).
