Filey School students have done themselves proud with their 2025 GCSE results. Headteacher, Hayley Pegg, said: “Congratulations, Year 11! It’s brilliant to see so many students doing so well and getting those key results. Because of these great outcomes, students now have so many opportunities and choices ahead of them, as they move on to the next stage of lives. Thank you to parents and carers – your support has been so important and much appreciated.”
The number of pupils achieving a strong pass in English and Maths has improved by 10% compared to 2024 and this has contributed to many individual success stories. Charlie, Ethan, Ellie and Leia had a great morning, sharing many grades 9-6 between them. Miss Pegg added: “There are so many students we could name for their brilliant results. They have put in so much effort and have been rewarded for that. We look forward to continuing our journey of improvement and ensuring that next year’s Year 11 enjoy great success too.”
John Emmerson, Year 11 Learning Manager, acknowledged the challenges faced by many in the year group, saying: “It was a joy to see students celebrating their well-earned success, surrounded by friends, family and staff. It was a moment of immense pride for us all.”
