Y5 had a brilliant day at an alternative sports festival yesterday. We did golf, frisbee, quidditch and some disability sports. It was very hot but the children all did a great job and had lots of fun!

A huge thank you to from our Year 5 community ambassadors for an excellent day. Our ambassadors took part on this year's 'Big Debate'. More importantly this is the final year that it will take part in the current council chambers making it all the more special.

Pupils had the opportunity to debate topics such as:
- Digital safety
- our global future
- local environment
- animal rights

They prepared for each topic in their own time at home and were very well spoken in their responses to the chair. They also had a lovely breakfast thanks to the amazing volunteers at Durham Youth Council.

What made it all the more special was meeting one of our governors and Ferryhill's own Councillor Quinn.

A huge well done for being such great ambassadors for Dean Bank Primary School

Dear Parent/Carer

Due to the expected high temperatures over the remainder of the week, I would like to share the following updated information with you:

Uniform expectations will be 'relaxed' - Jumpers/cardigans are not required. Pupils can wear PE shorts to school if they wish to. Please make sure these are an appropriate length.

All pupils must bring a large, refillable water bottle to school each day.

Pupils are advised to apply sunscreen and wear a sunhat outside at break and lunchtime.

Thanks
Mr Brown
