What a fantastic week welcoming back all my learners after the holiday. From listening to and making sounds to develop phonological skills, to phonics, spelling, grammar, reading, maths and preparing for Year 6 SATs. No lesson is ever the same when learning is tailored to the individual child and their needs. Can't wait to see what 2026 brings for me and the amazing kids I teach. .

Today I am celebrating my own achievement in completing my diploma to be a Literacy Specialist teacher for children with Dyslexia, Specific learning differences and barriers to reading and writing. From knowing a few sounds and zero words in lesson 1, to recognising 20 sounds and reading 20 words in lesson 4 today. Amazing progress. You are my star of the week!

I’ve just finished an early morning Maths lesson and it has set me up for the day. 😁We had lots of fun and laughter playing maths games and solving mathematical puzzles that got our brains working (well mine at least!) Seb even taught me a Maths card game. I am now ready to tackle the day and am looking forward to my English lessons later today as a Dyslexic specialist teacher.
