Saturday 11th April saw another excellent ICO Squad Training session hosted at the USKA Fight Factory under the guidance of Head England Coach Neil Kelly.

The session began with a Body Shot Boxing warm up, getting everyone switched on early and forcing the fighters to work under pressure from the very first minute. From there the squad moved into a deep stretch, including some assisted partner stretches to improve flexibility, mobility and kicking range.

A major theme throughout the session was reflex trigger counter attacks, with fighters working on recognising attacks, reacting quickly and firing back with the correct counters at the right time. There was a big emphasis on timing, awareness and making the reactions instinctive under pressure.

The session finished with a grueling stomach Blast topped off with a Sally Up / Sally Down plank drill which really tested everyone’s mental toughness and determination after three hard hours of work.

Considering we are at the end of the Easter school holiday we had another fantastic turnout of 60 fighters travelling in from clubs across the country and making big step forward on the road to October.

The next ICO Squad Training session is scheduled for Saturday 9th May and will feature former ISKA Super Middleweight Champion of the World Dale Jester Wood Wood as a guest instructor, helping coach on the day and passing on some of his vast fighting knowledge and experience.

Train Hard... Fight Easy... the more you sweat in training the less you bleed in battle!

Another strong England Squad session took place today at the USKA Fight Factory today as preparations continue for the ICO World Championships in France this October.

With over 50 participants from clubs across the country in attendance, the atmosphere was excellent and the standard of work throughout the session was very high.

The 2 hour session was instructed by England Head Coach Neil Kelly and focused on creating pressure, composure and technical sharpness under fatigue.

We opened the session with a panic padwork warm up designed to create nervous energy and put fighters under pressure from the very start. The emphasis was on staying calm in the eye of the storm, making good decisions and maintaining technique even when the pace and intensity increased.

From there, the squad moved onto basic chopping combinations and, more importantly, how and when to apply them effectively in sparring situations.

Technical sparring drills followed, giving fighters the opportunity to put the techniques into practice, work on timing, distance and ringcraft, and make the right decisions under controlled pressure.

The session was then finished off in tough fashion with a gruelling strength and conditioning circuit to test everyone physically and mentally after an already demanding afternoon of training.

With the ICO World Championships in France edging closer, the hard work continues and every session becomes more important.

The foundations are being built now for what we hope will be another successful campaign for Team England.

The next squad training will be held at the USKA Fight Factory on Saturday 11th April for anyone still interested in trying out for the team.

Big energy. Big smiles. 🐍

At Team NSK, our Mini Cobras are more than just a class… they’re part of the family ❤️

We create a fun, supportive space where our youngest members can build confidence, make friends, and feel comfortable from the very first session.

Every child starts somewhere, and we’re proud to be part of that journey 🖤❤️

If you’re looking for a friendly, welcoming environment for your child to grow and enjoy being active, we’d love to have you with us.

Another big step forward for Team NSK 👊

At the ICO England Open, Ewan came away with:
🥇 Gold – Martial Box
🥇 Gold – Ring Continuous
🥈 Silver – Kick Light

Great results, but more importantly a reflection of the work being put in week in, week out 💯

We’re seeing the gym grow year on year, with more opportunities opening up for our members—whether that’s building confidence in class or stepping onto an international stage 🌍

Both Ash and Ewan have been invited to the ICO World Championships in France 🇫🇷

Ash returns for a second ICO Worlds, and Ewan makes his first appearance at ICO Worlds—huge milestones for both 🙌

Proud of how far the team has come ❤️🖤

A newer reaction game we’ve added into sessions… and it’s already getting competitive 👀

Three partners.
Two pads.
All holding plank.

When the call goes, it’s a race to grab a pad 💥

Which means someone misses out 😅

Now you’re not just holding your body weight — you’re balancing, watching two opponents, reacting fast and staying sharp under pressure.

Drills like this build:
✅ Core strength
✅ Stability
✅ Reaction speed
✅ Awareness
✅ Competitive mindset

We love adding challenges that push both the body and the brain. That’s where real development happens 💯

From beginners right through to fight team — everyone gets tested at their level.

Want training that keeps you switched on and progressing every session?

Massive well done to everyone who attended the ICO Team England Squad Training at USKA Fight Factory this weekend 🇬🇧🥊

We’re proud to say Ash and Ewan were in the room representing North Staffordshire Kickboxing.

High-level squad sessions like this raise everything — timing, distance control, decision making under pressure and overall fight IQ. Agility work, structured pad drills, realistic scenarios and tough conditioning to finish. This is what pushing towards international level actually looks like.

The work being put in now builds towards October and the World Championships in France. No shortcuts. Just consistent effort in the right rooms.

If you’re part of our fight team and serious about English Opens, advanced categories or Team England selection — this is the pathway. It starts with showing up.

Session 3 takes place on 28th March at USKA.
If that’s your goal, speak to a coach and get booked in.

ICO Team England Squad Training Session number 2 took place today at the USKA Fight Factory in Birmingham as preparations continue for the ICO World Championships in France this October.

Despite the challenges of Ramadan and the half term break, it was fantastic to welcome just under 50 dedicated squad hopefuls through the doors, a clear reflection of the commitment and ambition within the team.

The session was led by ICO Team England Head Coach Neil Kelly and began with an agility ladder warm up, focusing on developing sharp footwork, coordination and movement efficiency. From there, athletes moved onto structured padwork, working through a series of set combinations across multiple disciplines. These drills incorporated a variety of realistic fight scenarios, helping athletes improve their timing, distance management, tactical awareness and overall ringcraft.

To finish, the squad were pushed through a series of partner and group strength and conditioning drills, designed to build the physical resilience and teamwork required to perform at elite international level.

The attitude, effort and standard on display were excellent throughout, and the hard work being put in now will be vital as we build towards October.

ICO Team England Squad Training Session 3 will take place on 28th March back at the USKA Fight Factory for anyone who wants to join this winning team and go for Gold in France.

This is our Cobra Program! 🐍

It’s been developed over time through experience, trial, and listening — not by shrinking an adult kickboxing class and hoping for the best. Everything we do is designed with children in mind.

Our sessions are fun, relaxed, and structured, helping children feel comfortable in the gym while building confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Alongside that, we gently develop base kickboxing skills, coordination, balance, and listening skills at a pace that suits each child.

Mini Cobras (ages 4–5) focus on settling into the gym environment, making friends, and learning the basics through play and simple drills, working towards their red belt.
Cobras (ages 6–10) build on those foundations with structured skill development and clear progression, all the way through to Cobra Black Belt.

Whether a child’s goal is confidence, friendships, progression, or competition, we support every Cobra in the same positive, encouraging way 🐍🥊

We keep membership accessible, with low monthly fees and discounts for families training together. Throughout the year we run family-friendly events, Cobra events, and regular belt gradings so children can celebrate their progress together.

We also use an app to make everything easier for parents — update details, track progress, view photos, and keep up to date with what’s happening.
