Weaverbyrd Hand weaving and Textile Art

It's been quite a while since I was able to get out my loom and start weaving again! A few things got in my way mostly Myocarditus and moving! But now I'm back and want to revive my Weaverbyrd page so thankyou to everyone who hung on here and now I hope to get back to travelling and find yarn and weaving related stuff to put on here.

Just after Christmas I will be getting in my campervan and heading south for a few months. I will be WeaverByrd on the Road and looking for interesting textile experiences to send to you, I'll also be doing some van weaving to keep my hands busy!! I hope you will follow my adventures which I will post here and give me encouragement! It's just me, Velma the van, Reuby the dog and a couple of rigid heddle looms and we'll be going through France, northern Spain and into Portugal, finding sun and sea. I wish you well whatever your plans are for 2020. Stay in touch xx

Well worth a look at these gorgeous yarns from this new supplier. Teresa and Gavin (her partner) both came weaving with me a little while ago so they take their commitment to yarn very seriously. Please support them and look out for them at fibre shows around the country.

WOW! There were times when I wasn't sure I'd ever see this day but TODAY'S the day we launch our beautiful hand-dyed yarn business... the yarn is ready to be bought and is nestling in our specially built lodge. I'm surrounded by gorgeously coloured, hand dyed, ethically sourced yarn!

I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has been supporting me on this journey so far. There is still a long way to go but taking the leap to do something I'm passionate about has been both challenging and wonderful at the same time and I really do appreciate all your encouragement.

NOW I have one more favour to ask: please take a look at the website which we've painstakingly spent hours over and tell me what you think? (Just because I've spent hours on it doesn't mean you can't be honest!!!😉)

Attending this great event in London this weekend. Yesterday I tried my hand at macrame and saw how it could be incorporated with weaving. Today I'm doing a workshop in dyeing! Happy days!!
