With a heavy heart, I have decided to close Paint To The People. It has been a difficult decision - one made for personal reasons. Although it was short lived, I hope your children have gained wonderful memories, felt included, appreciated and free to be creatively themselves.

I have learnt a huge amount while running the studio and it has been amazing to see your children's imagination and creativity flourish. I must have been doing something right as many kids were vocal about how much they loved coming here - some refusing to leave! 😄

I understand it may come as a surprise and a disappointment to many, so for that I am truly sorry. I would love nothing more but for the studio to stay open, but life has a funny way of changing our paths, sometimes very quickly and unexpectedly.

Although this chapter is closing, I will always revisit the lovely memories I've gained; full of laughter and excitement. 💖 Thank you everyone who stepped into the studio, no matter for how long. I will always appreciate you.

Summer Art camp is soon upon us! 🌞Here's the details:

🗓️ Mon 3rd - Fri 7th August
🕒 10am - 4pm (early + late pick up option)
📍Back part, 3a Bridge Road Felixstowe IP11 7SL
🎟️ £210 for full week only*
👨‍🎨 8-12 yrs old
Limited spaces

Join us for a fun week of art making! We will be exploring 2 main projects throughout the week as well as smaller fun activities and games. Lots of opportunities to test materials! 🖌️🫟

The camp is run by studio director Rosie (Designated Safeguard Lead). Alongside art assistants: Imogen and Glynis. Staff have had safeguard + First aid training and are all DBS checked to ensure safety of your child.

Well that's our first week of art classes done for this Term🧑‍🎨🧑‍🎨 Our kids and teens have made some awesome stuff so far...but here's what's still to come!

This is just a snippet of what we have in store:

🖌️ Our 3-5's will be playing with abstract paper shape sculptures, Puffy Paint Ice creams, Funky Cacti and more.
⭐ We still have some spaces in our Tuesday group!

🖌️ Our 6-8's will be looking at the artwork of Eric Carle (think the very hungry Caterpillar 🐛) and they'll make their own fruit bowl using collage and water colour painting

🖌️ And lastly our 9-15's groups will explore Jigsaw Printmaking (Teens will use Lino and 9-11's will use Styrofoam)

This week marks the start of our new term and our students have started on their first projects, including clay masks and Papier Mache turtle paintings 🐢🐢

Recently I've had an influx of new followers so I thought it a good idea to show my lil' face again and tell you a little bit about me 😊

I've been artistic as long as I can remember, I was always drawing something as a kid. When I was meant to be doing maths sums I was doodling something in the corner of the sheet! My mind was always looking for the creativity in something.

To be completely real I struggled badly with maths and science - my mind just didn't seem to grasp the academic subjects. The only subject I got a good grade in in school was Art! So coming out of high school I followed that instinct and I enrolled on the Art and Design course at where I had some of the best 3 years of my life.

I still look back to when I was studying there and it puts a smile on my face. The tutors were so encouraging and pushed me and my peers to experiment, think outside the box and step out of our comfort zone. Many of the tips, skills and support I got from that course I've kept with me since and I use much of it when I teach my students!

Outside of the studio I love making my own art too! I like to dabble in acrylic and watercolour painting and I sometimes sketch my surroundings and random objects in a sketchbook. But the artwork I love making the most is my colour pencil illustrations. I've been developing my skill in this medium for about 5 years now and I enjoy it very much 😊 I've included some pictures if you're curious!

Anyway thanks for reading this and I hope you were able to get to know me a little better. Sometimes I get so caught up in the prep, planning and running of the studio that I forget to connect on a more personal level with you all. So I hope I've done that today.

✨Enrol your kid on a creative week of art-making this summer at Paint To The People Art Studio in Felixstowe. Designed for children aged 8–12, our cosy and calm studio gives young artists the chance to explore exciting materials, express themselves creatively, and build confidence through art.

🌞More Details:
Throughout the week, children will work on a special main project inspired by artist Osa Rosti — creating their own unique wall mask sculpture. At the end of the week, families will be invited to a mini exhibition where campers can proudly share their creations.

Alongside the main project, each day will include fun drawing challenges, creative warm-up activities, icebreaker games, and plenty of opportunities for experimentation and play. We keep the days balanced with regular breaks to help children stay relaxed, engaged, and inspired.

🧑‍🎨 Led by Experienced Staff

The camp is run by qualified camp manager Rosie alongside staff members Imogen and Glynis. Staff are DBS checked and have had relevant safeguard training. Rosie and Glynis are First Aid trained.

With a small group size and welcoming atmosphere, this camp is perfect for children who love being creative, making new friends, and trying new artistic techniques in a supportive environment. 🎨
