Hello,
Have you been watching Chelsea, all those plants looking splendid in the show gardens and another bank holiday with surprise…, sun just right for planting. We are still doing our over the gate sales and yes I know it’s not the same as visiting the nursery but there are some beautiful plants looking for their new homes.
The annuals are looking colourful and there are a few hanging baskets ready and the runner beans and tomatoes are ready to plant.
We look forward to seeing you between 10.30 -2.30

Hello, in a normal year we would have been putting finishing touches to the plant display, making sure cakes were baked and looking at the weather forecast crossing fingers for a sunny or if not sunny a dry day but instead this year we have our OVER THE GARDEN GATE SALE… David has been potting tomatoes, cosmos, gazanias and Saffy, leek and beetroot,George the marigolds, begonia and basket plants plus of course the perennials all of which are looking good this year. Bryan has been in the tunnel mixing compost and helping with the watering. There are a few hanging baskets ready and Keith, Troy and Allan reminded me today that there are a few pieces of woodwork ready to go. So we hope you can visit on a Wednesday and Friday 10.30-2.30. See you soon

Hello, as you know we are coming to the time of year when we would have our first Open day of the year but unfortunately the nursery is still closed, this is not to say that our folk have not been busy at our temporary new home at the Hexagon. They have been potting, planting, w**ding, sowing and transforming the garden in the 7 months we have been there therefore there are some plants to sell… 🥳… but not in the same variety or quantity of previous years and because we cannot welcome you onto the nursery we will be selling at the front gate from 10.30-2.30 on Wednesday and Friday. We will be posting a ‘what's looking good’ and at this stage its mainly perennials, annuals will be available from mid May. We thank you for all your messages of support and look forward to seeing you at the garden gate.
Looking good now are those photographed below and Catananche, Lysimachia purpureum, Astilbe, Agapanthus, Acanthus snow storm, Anemone pink puff, Morina longifolia, Lavender, Monarda ‘beelicious’ Diascia Personata, Rudbeckia deamii,

Hola mis amigos, yes Duolingo Spanish is still ongoing 😊.
Well the wet stuff has well and truly arrived and the ground is getting some well needed watering and the waterbutts are all full 🥳🥳🥳
So we have decided we will have an END OF SEASON OPEN SUNDAY on the 28th OF SEPTEMBER. (usual time 11-3.00) The benches have been restocked and there is still plenty of colour, Rudbeckia in 3 different varieties, new Astrantia and Heuchera, Echinacea and a myriad of other delectable plant delights, and if you were watching Gardeners' World you know that Monty had said that autumn is the best time to plant as there is warmth and moisture in the soil. Plants that had stopped flowering because of the drought are coming on again so gardens through autumn should be spectacular.
Work in the garden has continued from the draining of the wildlife pond to see if we could remove the sludge and then thinking no far too old for hand digging that now 😀 let's get a machine so courtesy of Margaret who had been fundraising by selling seedlings and cuttings, we have purchased a sludge pump( thank you very much) which weather permitting we will use this Thursday.
We have also started to clear the old lavender slope in readiness for replanting later in autumn but omg the brambles have certainly taken hold.
After a little blip the Lodge is back on track and we hope to finish that by the end of October.
It has certainly been a good year for all things edible except for sweetcorn and blackberries so David, Hannah, Petrina and Janet have been making jams, chutneys, apple pies and other yummy edibles just in time for.…. ( I can not say the word)
So come and join us on Sunday 28th plants are still £6.00 and there are bargains to be had. We look forward to seeing you😊

Well whoopee do..,the July open Sunday was one of our best ever, thank you so much to all who came and emptied the shelves.. we even ran out of milk and cake. As we still have had no significant rain or any rain except for that downpour (which did thankfully fill the IBC tanks and the vehicle inspection pit.. 3 ft of water which we bailed out with buckets into yet more water butts, thanks Allan, Chris( Corky) and Stacy who kept at it all day) we are unsure as yet what to do about a September open day, we will be restocking the nursery gradually over the next few weeks so there might be a two tier price system in place but it will be well marked.
Most of the work on the nursery now involves keeping everything alive and clearing as them pesky w**ds keep growing we have also decided to de-silt the pond in the wetish meadow. This is the first time since 2017 when funnily enough we had a similar downpour which blocked the re opened sinkhole. We had help last year clearing the w**d but this year the silt must go but gone are the days when we used to do it by hand 🙄so will be looking to hire a slurry or mud pump.
Pallets.. If there is anyone out there who knows where we can get old pallets we would be grateful as it is yet another idea to try to stop the muntjac who are eating their way through the garden😡We have tried 3 different types of fence and ‘Deer off’ a natural repellent but…
That's all for now, remember wash up by hand to use the grey water or as one customer said..’I stand in a bucket in the shower’ now that is dedication for you😂

Thanks Chris, a video of all the lovely plants on offer to tomorrow.
