Baby moonbeams had great first week back after our summer holidays. We have enjoyed a picnic at the park, painting on the floor and buttering our own toast for breakfast. We also enjoyed watching a puppet show about the three little pigs and making some 3 little pigs crafts.

This week, our Preschool theme has been Cultures 🌍❤️

We've been learning all about different cultures, traditions and beliefs, giving our little ones the opportunity to explore and celebrate the wonderful diversity in our world.

We were incredibly lucky to have members of our team share their own experiences with the children. They talked about how weddings are celebrated in their culture, the delicious foods they enjoy, and some of the traditions that make their culture unique.

The children especially loved seeing the beautiful traditional outfits and exploring musical instruments from Nigeria. They had so much fun having a go themselves—it certainly got very noisy, but there were lots of smiles and laughter! 🥁🇳🇬

We also enjoyed a trip to our local library, where we chose books about different countries to share during carpet time. The children have loved asking questions, discovering new places and learning that although we may have different traditions, we all have so much to share and celebrate together.

What a wonderful week of learning, exploring and embracing cultures from around the world! 🌎✨

🩵 Here at Moonbeams Nursery, we're all about learning through fun! 🩵

🔬🧪 This week in Preschool, our theme has been SCIENCE! 🧪🔬

What an incredible week we've had! Our preschoolers have loved every minute, exploring, experimenting, and discovering through a range of exciting hands-on activities. Using their imagination, creativity, and curiosity, they've become little scientists! 🌈✨

This week we have:�🧪 Mixed and created our very own magical potions, complete with a sprinkle of sparkles for extra magic! ✨�🌋 Built and role-played with fantastic volcanoes.�🥤 Watched an exciting Coke and Mentosexperiment and loved seeing the fizzy eruption!�🌈 Explored the colourful Skittles and milkexperiment, watching the colours spread and mix together.�🔬 Carried out exciting science experiments.�🎨 Created our own colourful paper.�⚓ Played a fun Sink or Swim game, testing different objects to discover whether they would float or sink.

It has been wonderful to watch the children investigate, ask questions, make predictions, and discover new things through hands-on learning. 💡❤️

Science Week has definitely been one of our favourite themes, and we're sure it will be making a return in the future! 🌟

🎭✨ The puppet show has arrived inPreschool 1! ✨🎭

With the help of our wonderful teachers and our little ones, we put on some brilliant performances of The Three Little Pigs 🐷🏠, We're Going on a Bear Hunt🐻🌿, and The Gruffalo 🌳🦊.

Our preschoolers were completely captivated, sitting on the edge of their seats with excitement from beginning to end.

Hearing all the laughter 😄, giggles 🤭, and cheers throughout the performances was simply wonderful! 💖

Our new puppet theatre 🎪 has been a fantastic addition to the room, inspiring imagination 🌈, storytelling 📚, creativity 🎨, and confidence 🌟.

We can't wait to see what adventures our little performers bring to life next! 🥰✨

“I’ve painted pictures, built with blocks,
And learned to tie my shoes.
I've made some very special friends,
And read some great big books.
Now it is time to say goodbye,
And start a brand new rule.
I’m packing up my backpack now,
And heading off to school!”

Baby Moonbeams enjoyed celebrating with our school leavers last week at our leavers graduation. We would like to say a big good luck and good bye to our school leavers. It has been a pleasure watching you grow and being part of your journey. 🎉🥳

☀️ Summer has arrived! ☀️

With their sun hats on, Preschool 1 had a lovely morning out to the Duck pond enjoying the beautiful weather and some outdoor fun.

We took some sweetcorn along to feed the hungry ducks and were so excited to spot lots of mummy ducks with their fluffy little ducklings. 🐥🥰

There were plenty of smiles, lots of chatter, and so many "aww" moments as the children watched the duck families swimming and waddling around. It's always so lovely to see our little explorers learning about the world around them while enjoying the fresh air and making special memories together. 🌿☀️

We think it's safe to say our feathered friends were very happy with their tasty treats! 🦆💛

Last week Toddler room focused their learning on Healthy Eating! 🍎🥦🥕

We have learnt about all different kinds of fruits and vegetables, where they grow from and all about their seeds. We even had a go at cutting them open and seeing what was hidden inside! 🔍 We have whipped up some fruity mojitos,🍸and practiced our fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and control as we have threaded string round and over fruits 🪡 and squeezed and squashed the juice from them.🍊🧃

This week has been a wonderful opportunity for the children to further develop their understanding of the world, and learn more about some of their favourite fruits and vegetables! Each activity has had a huge focus on developing the children’s fine and gross motor skills as well as developing their independence.🍎🍊🥦🥕

Toddler room wanted to share some of the activities we’ve been exploring the past few weeks. We have been busy comparing big and small sizes, helping create new sensory bottles for the sensory room, playing finger football, feeding the very hungry caterpillar, building bug houses and exploring animal texture tuff trays. 🐛⚽️🫧

Activities like these strengthen our fine motor skills, provide us with the opportunities to explore different textures and tools, practice our mathematics and literacy skills and help develop our understanding of the world.🌍📚⚖️

This week is Healthy Eating week and we look forward to sharing our activities with you all! 🍎🥕🥔🥦

It is time to revamp the Moonbeams’s Enchanted Garden that has been neglected for too long!
It’s hot, dusty work but Josh is doing all of the heavy work whilst I am on sanding duty.
It will take several weekends to get it sorted, but from the end of July the Moonbeams’s Minibus will be available every day for the nursery children, so trips to the house will be frequent and it will allow the Moonbeamers to enjoy this wonderful space!
