๐๐ป๐ February fun in our Toddler room ๐๐ป๐
Our toddlers have had the loveliest time throughout February and weโd love to share a little snapshot of what weโve been up to together.
This month has been all about love, sharing, friendships and feelings ๐
We had so much fun exploring our emotions using The Colour Monster. The children searched for the Colour Monsters hiding underneath the silver glitter, carefully brushing it away with paintbrushes to reveal the different monsters and hearts in our tuff tray โจ
We also shared a story all about feelings and, when we asked the children how they were feeling afterwards, they all proudly shoutedโฆ โHAPPY!โ ๐
Another activity we really enjoyed was Old MacDonald Had a Farm.
We talked about which animals live on a farm, practised making all of the animal sounds and shared lots of giggles along the way ๐ฎ๐ท๐
The children then used their fine motor skills to follow a trail using their fingers and paint sticks, completing a puzzle that led them all the way to the barn.
We also made our own animal stick puppets and created our very own farm stories together, finishing the day with a lovely sing-along ๐ถ
We explored The Very Hungry Caterpillar through lots of creative and hands-on play ๐
Each child painted a plate for the caterpillarโs body, mixing colours to create their own designs. We played with wooden fruit, pretending to cut it in half, and used string to thread colourful beads to represent the caterpillar eating its way through the food, linking beautifully to the story we shared ๐๐
For Book Week, we began with We're Going on a Bear Hunt ๐ป
The children loved role-playing the story and exploring our sensory tray, using their feet to step into different textures. They described what they could feel using words such as โCRUNCHโ, โsmoooooothโ and โcoldโ โ such fantastic language and confidence from our toddlers ๐ฃโจ
A month full of stories, friendships and happy little moments ๐
