Our preschool children loved exploring Hall Lee Bank and Westhoughton Park — climbing, running, discovering nature and enjoying time with friends.

We finished the day with a little McDonald’s treat, which the children were very excited about.

A day full of fresh air, smiles and real‑life learning 💛

Children enjoyed a nature walk, exploring the paths around our nursery. We observed flowers, dandelions and trees. The children were great at collecting treasures like sticks and feathers.

Garden Adventures for Our Toddlers 🌿✨

Our little learners had a wonderful time exploring the garden — mixing, pouring, cooking, digging and creating with natural materials. Outdoor play gives toddlers the freedom to follow their curiosity while building so many important early skills.

What they were learning today:
🧠 Problem‑solving & thinking skills — experimenting with tools, testing ideas and exploring cause and effect
🤲 Fine motor development — scooping, stirring, picking up small objects and using utensils with control
🏃 Gross motor skills — lifting, carrying, balancing and moving confidently around the space
🗣️ Communication & language — naming materials, sharing ideas and using new vocabulary in play
❤️ Personal, social & emotional development — taking turns, working alongside friends and building confidence
🌍 Understanding the world — exploring plants, soil, textures and natural resources
🎨 Creativity & imagination — making “mud pies”, “leaf burgers”, ice‑cream creations and garden recipes

Preschoolers had a wonderful time participating in this afternoon's tuff tray activity, which featured a variety of materials for a tea party!

Every child demonstrated excellent turn-taking, strong engagement, an understanding of different colours and their combinations, and creativity in using the available materials to make their own creations!
