Operating as usual

On Friday the nursery was closed for an Inset Day.

I am very pleased to announce that all of the staff here at Caterpillars are now fully paediatric first aid trained with Daisy First Aid. Those of us that participated in the First Aid Training throughly enjoyed it and we can not thank Daisyโ€™s First Aid Trainer Feola enough for supporting us all in our learning and knowledge on paediatric first aid!

For those that were already First Aid Trained, they were tasked with working hard in giving their classrooms a deep clean and sorting and organising their classrooms for the seasons coming up. All in all it was a very successful day! โœจ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

This morning our cocoons and butterflies class had a very exciting visitor. They were given a little taster session for a sports lesson. The children throughly enjoyed the lesson and really got to explore using their balancing, throwing and team working skills. The lesson was provided by coach Zack at Curve Ball Coaching and we are hoping that this may be something we can offer in the future as an extra curricular activity across the week. โšฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿฅ…

This week the children have been busy colouring and drawing some lovely pictures for our Queen! This evening Verity went down to Windsor castle and laid some flowers and a picture book of all of the childrenโ€™s pictures. Everyone at Caterpillars is deeply saddened by the loss of our Majesty and we are all thinking of the royal family and anyone effected during this time. ๐Ÿ’—โค๏ธโœจ

A massive good luck to all of those children that have left us to start their new adventures at their big schools today. From everyone at Caterpillars we know you will all be amazing! โœจ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ›

This week we have been celebrating Fatherโ€™s Day in true Caterpillars fashion.
We invited the Dadโ€™s in for a junk modelling activity that they could take part in with their children, making it a little competition of who could make the best model.
They enjoyed some freshly cooked pizza and some refreshing drinks, whilst they got busy building. ๐Ÿงฑ

We have had some fantastic models! we love all of the colours, creativity and teamwork behind them all. It has been so much fun and we hope the Dads enjoyed it just as much as all of the children did! ๐Ÿ’™
Thank you to everyone that joined us this week.

Well what a fun filled day we have had at Caterpillars Childcare today, getting ready for a very special Jubilee Bank Holiday.
Today all of the children came together, in our preschool room, to enjoy a jubilee party. We all dressed up in our party clothes and the room was decorated with many Union jack flags, including one made by the preschoolers!
We enjoyed some delicious party food and some yummy treats, made by our lovely Chef Tina.
Throughout the week, the children have been taking part in many themed activities and have been learning all about the Jubilee. It has been so much fun.

We hope everyone has a fantastic bank holiday, and enjoys any plans that you have, to celebrate the jubilee. โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽ‰

Last Week was a busy week at Caterpillars Childcare!
We celebrated two very special events that bought some amazing activities, sparking many areas of learning.
We love to teach the children about other cultures and religions and what better way to do it than through some inviting activities that the children can get involved with.
We introduced Rangoli patterns through a sensory tuff tray in Preschool. They used different coloured rice to create some beautiful patterns. Aswell as some Mendi hand painting made with face paint.

In the baby room they enjoyed some Rangoli colouring, allowing the children to cooperate using their fine motor skills. They then enjoyed a mini light festival using their beautiful projector and light cubes to spark their senses.

The children were all extremely excited about firework night! And enjoyed all of the creative activities set out for them allowing to get even more involved.

Preschool created some wonderful bonfire rockets, that they decorated with lots of bright colours and sparkles! Alongside this, was a barbie bonfire and a bonfire tuff tray.

The Babies and 2-3s made some eye catching firework and bonfire pictures using mixed materials to create the sensory aspect.
And as a super yummy treat 2-3s made some edible sparklers. Of course the children absolutely loved this, and loved eating them just as muchโ˜บ๏ธ.

We are hiring!
