Noemi’s mum struggled to support her reading at home…now she says the change is HUGE.

Sometimes children don’t dislike reading. They just haven’t experienced the joy of success. 💛

Before joining Inspired Minds Learning, Ronney found reading boring, overwhelming and simply too hard. Whenever it was time to read, he’d rather run off and play.

Now, everything has changed.

I can’t believe I did this... 🥶🌊

I was standing on a paddle board, staring at the freezing cold water below, trying to talk myself into plunging in.

The longer I stood there, the harder it felt.

My brain was coming up with every reason not to do it.

But the second I jumped, I realised something:

The anticipation was far worse than the reality.

And honestly? Getting support for your child’s reading is often exactly the same.

I did NOT expect this ending...

My son is obsessed with magnets, so I created a phonics magnet challenge for him.

The goal was simple: Could he read every sound correctly and splat it with his magnets?

What started as a fun little game quickly became VERY competitive.

This is exactly why play based learning works so well. When learning feels fun, children stay engaged for longer, build confidence faster, and retain so much more.

“Does online learning actually work for young children?” 🤔

It’s one of the questions I get asked most often.

And honestly, I completely understand why parents ask it.

But here’s what I’ve found...

Children are often MORE engaged online.

Think about it this way:

Imagine being a chef all day and then coming home to cook dinner for your family.

That’s a bit like how many children feel after a full day at school.

They’ve already spent hours sitting at tables completing worksheets.

So when an in-person tutor arrives with a pile of worksheets after school, it’s not always the most exciting part of their day.

But online sessions feel different.

Children love the novelty of logging onto Mum or Dad’s computer.

They love the interactive games.

They love earning points, completing challenges and taking part in activities that feel fun rather than repetitive.

And when children are engaged, they learn.

That’s exactly what happened for Sebby.

Not only has he closed the gap between himself and his peers, but he’s also built so much confidence along the way.

The right support isn’t about where learning happens.

It’s about how children feel while they’re learning.
