So touched to receive this review today. I truly want the very best for all my students...

"Vicky is amazing. She is a fantastic advocate for SEN children and is genuinely invested in helping them reach their potential.

" My daughter has complex SEND needs and wanted to challenge herself by studying for the higher papers. Vicky made this accessible while keeping lessons engaging, enjoyable, and tailored to her needs. She really “gets it” and has a wonderful way of building both confidence and self-belief.

"The positive impact Vicky has had on my daughter’s education and wellbeing has been invaluable, and I am incredibly grateful for her support."

I thoroughly enjoyed working with this family. Please do get in touch if you think I might be the right fit for your child.

PS Flowers received from another lovely family today!

I was delighted to receive this review last week:

"We found Vicky at a very lonely and vulnerable time. Our child had found school too much and didn’t trust teaching staff as a result. I contacted Vicky and knew straight away she would be a great fit for our child. She had no judgement and was extremely kind and understanding.

" Our child had a safeguarding matter and Vicky didn’t shy away from contacting us regarding this. The child is at the heart of how she teaches. Our child said “she is kind, has a great sense of humour and great teaching so I understand, and if I don’t understand she will find another way of teaching. She made me believe I can do it”.

" I would recommend Vicky highly."

PS he can do it, and I'm sure he will!

Sad week coming up, saying goodbye to students who are about to sit their final GCSE and A-level papers. It's truly a privilege being entrusted with the tuition of these wonderful young people - good luck, all. Hope they like their leaving gifts, and remember me when they drink from them!

The all-new home ed KS3 Science Group continues to go from strength to strength, honing the science skills of those teen and pre-teen scientists through fun and engaging activities. We’ve got spaces coming up in the last few weeks of term – get in touch to book a slot for your budding STEAM enthusiast!

16 June – Food Science – gases. Investigate the importance of gas in foods and methods in which they are introduced. What effects the crunch of your Crunchie?!

30 June – Environmental Chemistry. Participants will be tasked with the job of cleaning up dirty water using a range of materials. Will it be fit to drink, though?

14 July – Oil, Water and Emulsions. Another visit to Food Science, this time looking at density, miscibility, mixtures and stability. What foodstuffs are emulsions and how can their textures be altered?

The sessions run on Tuesdays 12 -1pm at my house in Farnham. Cost is £20 per session payable in advance.

Look no further!

I'll be on-boarding new clients from week commencing Monday 15 June. Here are some recent testimonials from some happy punters:

“Just to say, he really likes the way you teach and it’s given him lots of confidence in his science which is wonderful to see.”

“Thanks for supporting F over the last couple of years - more than anything, it has really helped his confidence and to know that he can do it. We are all rooting for him over the next few weeks!”

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Well that was a lot of fun with KS3 science club! We were investigating enzymes - salivary amylase's action on cream crackers, bromelain in pineapple's action on jelly (who knew that tinned wouldn't work because it's been heat-treated?!) and potato's catalase's action on hydrogen peroxide.

🧪 Stop press - next session tomorrow Tuesday 28 April! Home ed KS3 Science for Fun – Now £20 per session

I’ve made a small change to make these sessions even more accessible going forward – all classes are now £20.

We already have a lovely small group of 3 students, and I have space for just 2 more to keep that friendly, hands-on feel.

Next time we’re investigating speed through:
🚀 Balloon rockets
🚗 Ramp challenges
🫧 Fizzing reaction races
🎯 A fun “hit the target speed” challenge

These sessions are very practical, relaxed, and designed to build both confidence and curiosity – as well as giving students a chance to socialise and work together.

If your child would enjoy a small, engaging science group, feel free to message me for details or to reserve a space. Sessions take place on alternate Tuesdays, 12 - 1pm.
