One of my favorite dive sites- Napantao. This was where I learned how to scuba dive through Coral Cay Conservation as a Filipino dive scholar. I am very grateful to have returned back home where my diving journey began.
I always rave about this place and always tell people that they should put this on their dive bucket list. I have logged over 40 dives in this beautiful dive site but never had photos or videos to share until now.
The truth is even now, this video doesn't even come close to the experience of diving in Napantao. But I hope you enjoy it anyway!
I went diving and stayed with Sogod Bay Scuba Resort, you can read my experience and full review here:

Delete if not appropriate, but while we're all thinking about the sad closure of the Philippines base, I thought people would be interested in the below... Most people who've worked/volunteered in Napantao know of Sogod Bay Scuba Resort and the work they've also been doing to protect the local reefs. COVID has also affected them and so Philip is trying to raise funds to continue their work. I'm sure any donations would be very well received and aside from helping the reefs, would be of great benefit to the locals engaging in the project.
On a side note, thanks to everyone involved in the work at Napatnao. It's such an incredibly special place and I know so many of us treasure such fond memories of our time there. 🐟💙

We're excited to announce our newest partner project: Coral Cay Conservation 🥳
They have been based in the Philippines for over 25 years and their research teams are composed of international volunteer divers, CCC staff, independent researchers and local Filipino scholars who work to provide marine spatial assessments of coral reefs. They aim to establish Marine Protected Areas (MPA) whilst assessing MPA effectiveness.
They collect data on the ecological status of the village’s reef system and then develop a conservation management with the local stakeholders.
We welcome Coral Cay Conservation to our Hydroheart Family and are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration!🙏💙
Please visit and follow them on their social media channels!👍

Phew, what a year it has been for the Lifesigns Group! Between Adventure Lifesigns and Coral Cay Conservation we took 455 individuals across oceans to 8 countries. From gaining their PADI Open Water certification at 18 metres below sea level in the Philippines to smashing the world record for the highest game of hockey at 5022.17 metres, our students covered all the extremes. In addition to personal development, our teams contributed to a wide range of community projects around the globe, giving back to the partners that have welcomed us to their country, from Chicken coops and EcoBrick buildings in the Philippines to rebuilding toilets in Nepal.
In the UK department, our freelance leaders undertook countless team building days both with school children and teachers, and our medical specialists certified 1,323 students on a variety of medical courses.
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope to welcome you on a course or adventure in the new year!
Shrimp party anyone? 🦐
I managed to see three different shrimps in this part of the reef which is pretty cool. 😍
Back when I was volunteering in Coral Cay Conservation, part of the reef survey was to look for shrimps. It frustrated me since I could never find them. Now I kinda know where to look and still get super excited when I see them. 😬
I am not quite sure what this first one is! Any idea what shrimp it is?
I know the coral banded shrimp and the sexy/ squat shrimps are the other ones 😍
