Seale Village Pre-school
We are in the heart of a lovely village, which we explore in all year round. Our hall is spacious, airy and very welcoming. Our forest school site is close by - fs sessions at no additional costs.
We have a few spaces available so please message or email to arrange a visit soon!
At SVP HQ we’re making preparations for the New Year Festivities, looking forward to seeing another year in with people we love. SVP opens again on Wednesday 4th January 2023! We will see you soon!
Seale Village Pre-school had our Christmas songs in St. Laurence Church this morning. The children did a lovely job of singing all the songs they’ve learned to their families, and then they decorated the tree with the things they’ve made too. We had some of the Shuffle Tunes choir to sing to us also! Feeling jolly festive now! 🎄
🎼 “We’re going for a walk,
we’re going for a walk,
I wonder what we’ll see today
We’re going for a walk” 🎼
Fun times at pre-school! Not only did we have the excellent Smiles at School photographer Tracey in today, but there was lots of singing and dancing too! One of the team loved dancing to a well known frozen song!
Photo proofs from today will be with us sometime next week!

Do you know it’s 5 years since Seale Village Pre-school opened its doors for the first time! 5 years!! That time has whizzed by.
This year we are looking for some dynamic staff to fill the boots of our lovely people heading off to new places! Ideally our new someone will have a level 3 childcare qualification and maybe even a forest school qualification too!
We would love to chat to our next team member(s), email, ring, msg…
Speak soon 🙌🏻💕
We love coming to our forest school. The ever changing nature is breathtaking and often changes the game. The leaf coverage becomes a great place for leopards to lay in their trees 💚
Swings are ever popular, the ground beneath becoming more of a bowl shape with use, but that offers more challenge! And will hunting for insects ever get old? Nah, I bet you all notice insects on your walks too 😉
I feel like David Attenborough right now as I observe three interesting sights in our garden…one Allosaurus, one Triceratops and one Tyrannosaurus Rex 🦖 talking about how they need to move about the forest quietly so no one can see them. So much discussion and at times heated debate about the virtues of these beasts long extinct but forever living in gardens and homes across the world. What’s not to love about early years! 💚💜
Sometimes it’s important to pare it back, natural resources and a bit of provocation with pictures of marine life spark interest and creativity. It’s been tidied up as it’s nearly lunchtime, but it certainly sparked lots of interest earlier.
Sometimes all we need is a bowl of water and some cloths for the best immersive play 💚💜💙
Some of the children made pizzas this week, the verdict? Delicious!
It’s good to talk.
It was good to listen too, some of the conversations at the Talking Tree were great this morning, including “are you my boyfriend?” “dads do really stinky toilets” and “I love you”
Listening is good, all these wonderful interactions right under our noses 💚💜💙
It’s a hive of activity at forest school today. I have a quiet moment to observe and reflect, noticing how busy everyone is. With our love of In The Moment Planning (ITMP) we like to offer provocations for children to leap into imagination and see where their ideas take them. Adults role model and show ideas helping children to take their next steps in thinking. I think we’re so very lucky to have this time to be free 💚🧡💜
Sheer bliss, up a tree chatting about life with the bestie 💜💚💙
Hammering leads to making paint brushes and then trying them out back at pre-school. How? I hear you ask. Well….
1. Find a stick
2. ‘Moooosh’ the end with a hammer
3. Or tie leaves to a stick
4. Stick it in the paint and make something beautiful 🧡
Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day at pre-school, with our odd socks!
Taking all the 3 and 4 year olds to forest school, and the youngest most excited team member! Connie is rocking the hi-viz/wooly hat combo!
If I had a hammer…..
When the trusty cable reel table finally gives up the ghost and you find 4+ years of treasure carefully stuffed down the hole….it’s an excellent excavation opportunity!
How amazing is this? Cassie aka KRAFTaholic UK aka Jake and Oli’s mum has made these tees for Joe Wickes& Tom, and world Positive About Downs Syndrome day 21 March.
We’re proud supporters of PADS, Cassie and Oli 💚
Had the most awesome day filming workouts with .fit16 💪🏽😀 Tom started sharing live workouts during lockdown to help inspire other young children with Down Syndrome. A family member got in touch with me and told me all about Tom. I thought he was so inspiring and wanted to help him reach an even bigger audience. ❤️ Today we filmed 3 workouts together which I’ll be sharing on my YouTube channel very soon. Tom said that after he exercises he feels “chuffed, proud & happy” ☺️ Let’s send him some love and encouragement in the comments below 👇🏽
Today we decided to go for a walk and look round the churchyard today. We talked about being respectful and how to be in such a place. Lots of questions and curiosity. We found a headstone nearly 100 years old and everyone thought that was very old indeed!
That’s the end of half term, doors are closed until Tuesday 22nd February. Have a super week lovely people and we’ll see you soon x
Some excellent hand strengthening exercises, artistry and concentration going on here.
It’s been all about looking after the babies today, lots of really lovely role play exploring everyday life at home through playing with dolls.
Also in answer to the question of the day posted by The Tongeman Two “is Bing a boy or a girl”, we surveyed today’s SVP children and staff and I can say the result was pretty conclusive, 8 votes for boy, 2 votes for girl and one refusal to participate! 😂
So many interesting conversations at the transient art table today, some excellent creativity, plus a bit of spontaneous adding and subtracting and 1 to 1 correspondence all through natural play. I wonder what we’ll discover tomorrow 💚
Edit: look at the ocean, starfish swimming and a crab on a rock!!
The simplest of ideas keep the smallest of hands busy. Such a pretty and engaging invitation to play ❤️
There are just a few spaces available for a January start for funded 3 and 4 year olds! Get in touch if you would like to look round

A very chilly forest school session today and although the fire helped a bit, we did get cold. So back to pre-school for a warming hot chocolate which did the trick nicely!
We had a lovely walk yesterday in the winter sun, found some puddles but needed to measure how deep they were using sticks. Then we found the bales and wondered what was inside. Beautiful day to stroll in the countryside 💚
We are hiring! We would really love to welcome a new team member to SVP. We're looking for a qualified and experienced early years practitioner with a minimum level 2 childcare qualification. We'd be really interested in speaking to someone who also has a forest school qualification! A DBS with update service would just be the icing on the cake.
We work Monday to Friday during school term times, staff work from 8am - 4pm. If you or someone you know are interested, please email : [email protected] or Tel: 01252 782149 or msg!
Seale Village Pre-school Our Pre-school opened in September 2017, nestled in Seale Village in the Surrey Hills, an area of outstanding beauty. We make good use of the beautiful countryside on our walks along the North Downs Way and in the village.
We all went for a walk this morning and for one of the children it was his first outing. Some of us told him what we might see, someone mentioned tractors and I thought...oh blimey don’t promise tractors just in case. And lo and behold....we saw a tractor! Winning the day 💚
As we mentioned we’re doing a bit of resourcing at the moment so if there’s anything you can help with please do! At the moment we’re on the look out for
Comics - especially superhero characters
Vehicles - toy ones
Old ornaments you might be popping in the bin
Postcards
Junk jewellery - bangles and chunky necklaces especially
Thank you for anything you can help with! Photo for hilarity!
Seale Village Pre-school updated their information in their About section.
Practice, practice, practice. Jumping off with both feet together is quite an achievement. Jolly good fun trying though!
We're doing lots of developing our resources at the moment, the team is really enhancing areas and as a result, lots of critical thinking and playing and exploring. Here's a couple we made today... Who doesn't love a dinosaur swamp, and mirrors are vital for young childrens exploration 💚
We had the best time at our leavers forest school session today! Watching the children show their families around the site is awesome, I hope the parents enjoyed it too!! So another group off to infant school and we're off for a well earned break.
Thank you to our fabulous staff team, hasn't been the easiest of years but we've survived!!!!!
We return to the world of SVP in September; have a lovely summer you guys!!
We aimed for forest school this morning, but saw the fields were being watered with an enormous sprinkler so we had to investigate a bit closer......
We made a fab insect hotel today in "Sarah's quiet garden" (as I like to call it) and the discussions were great, especially when I asked what the acorn cup could be for and someone said "well they'll need a toilet in their room" Oh such literal thinkers! Loved it so much I didn't actually take any photos 🤦♀️ 💚
Have a great week off and we'll see you soon
