Now that the littlest chief inspector has also had a test ride we can make it official: the new car has been met with approval. The comments were mostly along the lines of "wheeee" and "so nice".
School runs and trips out are now eco friendly, being fully electric and mostly fuelled by sun.

In January we noticed a lot of robins on our walks and started learning more about birds. We made bird food to hang up in the front garden (the magpies have them in one bite!), we made our own playdough to try and mould a macaw, we went on bird bingo walks (muddy puddles included) practicing our quiet walking and listening ears.

These past months we have fostered a guinea pig and learned a lot about them. Most importantly that animals have needs, too.
Sonny was a bit shy to begin with so we had to be calm and quiet.
We had to read up what food is good for him and what isn't.
Didn't take long to discover dandelions are to guinea pigs what chocolate is to children. None left in the garden and happy squeeks every time the children came close.
He was such a pleasure to look after!

All neatly folded into a card showcasing the developmental stages of paper folding beautifully.

They are SO proud.

This is a handwriting exercise! How? Without hand muscles, no pen control. So anything that gets those fingers working benefits their writing skills. And as little hands are not fully developed until around 7, we must not forget to offer this kind of work to our school children, too.
