How has your week been? What have you achieved?

Celebrate your successes. Recognise the progress and achievements you have made this week.

Congratulate yourself for all your WINS this week.

How is your week going?

Are you feeling more in control?
Have you decided which situations you want to be the driver, and which the passenger?
Have you managed to kick-start your motivation?

Let me know how you are getting on. I'd like to hear from you to see if you find these posts helpful.

Happy Chooseday !

I've borrowed this from a post I saw earlier.

A. I liked the play on words
B. It got me thinking

What are we choosing for ourselves, in our lives, rather than just accepting, allowing.?

Are we being a passenger in life, or, are we being the driver?

Which would you prefer to be?
The passenger, who just observes what's going on around them, accepting where they end up, with no choice in the destination ?

The driver who decides where they are going, what route they are going to take, how fast they go, making decisions and choices along the way?
Be the Driver of your life, actively choose what you do. Set those goals, make those changes, have a say in your life !

Has your motivation gone AWOL ?

It's not surprising with the miserable weather.

Lots of people find this time of year difficult. The shorter days, cold and damp weather, all add up to making your feel less like doing ANYTHING.

What can you do to help you during this time?

Here are a few strategies to help.
* Schedule special events. Have something to look forward to.
* Keep an eye on your diet. Get plenty of fruit and vegetables.
* Share positive images and news with friends. An instant lift.
* Exercise and fresh air. Get those neurotransmitters working.
* Create a warm and welcoming home environment. Cosy toes.
* Do something creative like writing, drawing, crafting etc.
* Try something new. That's always exciting and lifts your mood too.
* Have a to-do list to keep you on track.
* Something you've found useful before. We are all different.

Have a great motivated week ahead.

How do you start your week?

I like to keep Monday mornings free to review what's coming-up for the week ahead. This gives me time to make sure I have all the resources I need in place so there are no last minute panics.

This works well for mw and is a great way to ease myself into the week.

What do you do ?
Post your answers in the comments section below. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Give yourself permission to look after yourself.

Do you ignore your needs?
Do you put others needs ahead of your own?
Do you end up burnt out or so ill you can't do things?

Remember, on an aircraft they tell you to fit your own oxygen mask first before attempting to help others.

It's the same with life, your needs must be fulfilled to some level in order to help others successfully.

You can't run on empty batteries. !

Remember to recharge yourself daily.

Who has had the most positive impact in your life?

I'm lucky enough to say I have too many to name. To all of those people I want to say how truly grateful I am for their inspiration, kindness, support, love, and allowing me the space to derive "AHA" moments.

Who would you like to say thank you to?
Perhaps you could call them, text them or do something just for them?

How do you deal with not getting the results you want first time?

I was going to write about this yesterday, but didn't want to start the week on a negative. But let's face it, we don't always succeed the first time.

How do you view that?
Do you feel a sense of failure? Do you give up?
Do you see it as just feedback that you need to try something else, something different?

It's been my experience talking to hundreds of people, that if they really want something, they will keep on trying different things to achieve their desired outcome.

That's where the law of requisite variety kicks in.

The Law of Requisite Variety tells us that only those who are as flexible as their environment actually have any choice.

In simple terms, being more flexible and less rigid on how to achieve something means you open yourself up to more opportunities, and are more creative. You keep on trying, eventually you will take the action that gets you the results you want.

It reminds me of an old saying...... There's more than one way to skin a cat. Disgusting I know, but you get the gist.

So, removing the word failure from your dictionary, and replacing it with feedback, gives you a different perspective. Take the feedback, reflect on it, and learn from it.

Above all, don't put so much pressure on yourself to achieve first time. Where's the fun in that? Also, you don't learn much from always getting what you want first time.

Remember, we learn from our mistakes. We accumulate experience and a sense of achievement.

Have a great day, whatever you do, and whatever comes your way.

There's a lot of talk about change at the moment. The most media coverage is about the change the UK is experiencing with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. We now have a new King, with lots of airtime given to everything that is impacted by this. This ranges from how different the monarchy may become, to changing our currency and postage stamps, and everything in between.

Change is a constant in life. Even nature is changing as the seasons trickle past. We ourselves are changing all the time. We get older, we learn new things, we develop and evolve as people.

Some of these changes we actively embrace and seek, others are imposed upon us.

How do we embrace those changes that are imposed upon us, to which we may not like or agree with?

A lot depends on how resilient you are to change.

Do you see the change as a negative thing or, do you look upon it as an opportunity to do things differently? This may include learning new things about yourself?

Things that might help.
* It is important to focus on the things that you are in control of.
* Accept that this change is happening.
* Look for the possibilities and opportunities the change brings.
* Self-care such as reflection, taking time out for you, and maintain healthy habits.
* Plan ahead if you were aware the change was going to happen.
* Seek help from others if you are finding it difficult.

If you find making and accepting change difficult, and need help, it's OK to seek and ask for that help.

Take care of yourselves

Yesterday the world said goodbye to an icon, Queen Elizabeth II. Whatever your views on the Royal family, one thing is for sure, they all did their duty to the nth degree. That is something we can also say about the late Queen.

With her passing, and there being a new Monarch, we automatically mourn for the loss of all that we have known. Unsure of what will change, and how it will affect us.

Change does not happen overnight. It is something we achieve little by little, step by step. If we try to change too much too quickly we become overwhelmed.

One thing is for sure, we can not resist this change, it is irrefutable.

Dealing with change can be challenging. Whilst we mourn for our loss, we do need to embrace the new.

As I wrote a few days ago "The only constant in life is change".

We all deal with it differently, but in order to grow, develop and evolve, we need to embrace it. We need to look for the positives and the possibilities the change provides.

How well do you manage change? Put your answers in the comments below๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Wow, we are already half-way through September. How did that happen? How are you getting on with your goals?

If like most people they've fallen by the wayside. September is a strange month. Getting back into work, school runs, daylight hours are beginning to get shorter, and you're still adjusting back into your routine. Fear not ! All is not lost.

What can you do?
Here are some suggestions as you recalibrate, take stock, and reflect on what's important to you.

For the remainder of September:
* Plan each week on a Sunday
* Start introducing the change you want to make in small bitesize chunks of time. (10 mins is better than 0 mins)
* Reflect on where you want to be by Dec 31st.
* Write your goals down and start making a 90 day plan for Oct - Dec
* Break the goals down into monthly, weekly, and then daily activities to slot into your diary
* Make each daily activity small enough to be able to do, but big enough so that it is a stretch. Why? If too simple you just won't do it. You'll put it off and try to accumulate a week's worth in one go. This may overwhelm you as you try to find at least 70 mins to complete.
* Take that first step

I'm off to do my 90 days.

Good luck with yours. Let me know how you get on in the comments below๐Ÿ‘‡

Hello and welcome to a new week.

Today's post is a long one, but bear with it.

The nation is mourning for the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Everyone is feeling at least a sense of change in their lives. Through tragedy and sorrow comes comradery and a coming together as a nation and also globally.

Through sorrow at the loss also comes laughter as people recount fun times too.

There's a saying:
"The only constant in life is change"

Everything and everyone changes to some degree. From aging as a person, to developments in technology, and everything in between.

Relationships change. Whilst some become stronger and closer, others may diminish.

Our wants and desires change as we develop and outgrow what we have.

Some thrive during times of change, and some struggle. Perhaps feeling a sense of loss for the things that are now different to what they had known.

Those that thrive do so by embracing the change. They adapt, learn and develop. They recognise that their energy is best served by acceptance of the change.

What has changed in your life? How have you accepted and adapted ?

Energy spent resisting change is wasted. Being the Sci-fi fan I am, another saying springs to mind:
"Resistance is futile !".

So my friends, what kind of person are you?

Are you........
An embracer, or..... A resister?

I've been catching up with folk I've not seen for well over a year. It was so lovely to just pick up where we had left off. It was like I had seen them only last week.

Are there any folk in your life like that?

Do you need to arrange a visit ?

Do it, there's no better time than the present.

Well Hello September !

It's a new month, time for new practices? Maybe a fresh start?

What goals do you have for September?

What's that? No goals?
Without goals how do you know what you are aiming for?
Without goals you will have no focus, no sense of achievement and no sense of purpose.
You may even focus on the negative aspects of your life rather than the positives.

Goals provide some, if not all of the following:
A sense of purpose
A sense of hope
A sense of excitement for doing new things
A sense of taking control
A sense of empowerment

This list is not exhaustive, but can you see how positive and uplifting it is?

What are you goals for September ? Put them in the comments below.

Good morning, I hope you are all doing well.

I was late last month but I am on it for September ! lol

Here is the Action for Happiness calendar for September 2022. I hope you find it useful.

I saw a joke today.

Be the bigger person !

I can't, I'm only 5ft 2 ๐Ÿ™ˆ

It made me laugh as I am 5 ft 2.5inches tall, and everyone is bigger than me.

Joking aside, it does pay to be the bigger person. Walk away when you need to, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

Don't allow anyone to influence you by lowering yourself to their level.

You are better than that. You don't need that toxicity and negativity in your life.

Just my humble opinion.

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend ###

Wow, it's been a hectic few weeks and the heat has been draining us all. So... apologies for the late posting of the August calendar.

Better late than never !

Today everything was put on hold to go and celebrate with my niece as she graduated from Portsmouth Uni with a Masters of Science in Business and Management.

Well done Emily Johnson, very proud of you.

Saw this and stole it lol

Wow it's been hot, and will be again today. How are you coping in the heat?

Have you been derailed from what you wanted to do ?

First of all, forgive yourself. These are exceptional temperatures.

You can either choose to embrace the hot weather and find ways to make it enjoyable for yourself, or you can choose to beat yourself up for not doing things and become miserable. I'm choosing the first !

We'll all be cold again in a few days ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

It's hard to keep going when your brain feels like an ice-cream that is melting due to the hot weather.

How do you cope?

One way is to have such entrenched routines that you still manage to carry on and get your "stuff" done, working towards your goals and dreams.

I manage this with lots of drink breaks to keep myself hydrated.

What's your process for carrying on and doing your daily activities in this heat?

When is the best time to start something new?

When is the best time to start something new?

The answer is........

NOW ! There is no time like the present.

Don't put it off, take that first step !

What would you like to start doing but keep putting off ?

Put your answers below in the comments section ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡

Putting things off or avoiding them hoping it will go away?

How often do you put things off ?
How often do you avoid doing things hoping it will just go away (AKA burying your head) ?

We all do this from time to time, but why?

Usually due to fear, fear of the unknown, fear of the effort that may be involved or maybe fear of any consequences.

Quite often the fear is much, much worse than doing the thing.!
Getting it done causes much relief, and allows you to get on with your life.

Don't procrastinate, get it done, get it off of your mind !

Are you ignoring your values?

Your values are important to living a life that has meaning, purpose and feeling content. If you are ignoring, or falling short in some of them you will feel unhappy, as it goes against your core emotions subconsciously.

Review your life against your values and see where the gaps are.
These are potential opportunities to make a difference not only to your life but to those around you.

It's OK to ask for help !

Is this you?
โšก๏ธ Unhelpful emotions keeping you stuck (Anger, Sadness, Guilt, Fear, Anxiety etc.).
โšก๏ธ Unhelpful habits that sabotage your efforts to live a better life.
โšก๏ธ Wanting more purpose, fulfilment and enjoyment in life, but not sure how or where to start.
โšก๏ธ Limiting beliefs about yourself.
โšก๏ธ Fear of failure or judgement.

Would you like to be able to:
โœจ Release stuck, unhelpful emotions
โœจ Release unhelpful habits and replace them with more helpful ones.
โœจ Set meaningful goals based upon your specific wants in life.
โœจ Release limiting beliefs.
โœจ Release fear of failure of judgment.

If so, I can help you. I am qualified in NLP, Breakthrough Coaching, Hypnotherapy and Time Line Therapy. Using a mixture of these techniques we can address all of these things.
