And......another Holiday Inn. This time Basildon.

Upgrading my skills for the next 3 days.

Being authentically you.

As you know I had a photo shoot day last week. I really dislike having my photo taken and usually smile with my lips shut. I've had asthma from birth and all the antibiotics in my early years discoloured my teeth. Hence the grin rather than smile in photos.

I've mentioned this to a few people when asked. Their response was that they hadn't noticed.

Well, what a revelation. I've thought about this from time to time and realised that I was being overly critical of myself. I am what I am, as the song goes.

What others things about myself do I hide or overly criticise ?

AND, if I'm doing it, who else does?

Probably everyone !

So today I'm giving you permission to be yourself.

I'm not saying be a jerk and giving permission for bad behaviour, far from it.

What I am saying is be true to yourself, big-up your best bits, and don't hide the bits you're not so keen on.

Am I being body positive? Perhaps, but I think it's more than that.

So to prove this, here's that picture I took of myself again. !

Walking my talk # #

Brand photo-shoot today with the lovely Leanne du Plessis Photography.

Thank you so much Leanne.

We are into the second half of the year.

What goals have you set for yourself?
Goals help us progress and move forward towards our dreams and aspirations.

No goals, how are you going to improve your life?

You can't hit a target you haven't set !

Some day never happens unless you plan it, and start it.

Go plan your next adventure in life, feel inspired, let those dreams become a reality.

Great evening networking.

Life doesn't come to you, you have to go out and find it. !

There's a saying, "nothing changes if nothing changes".

If you want something different for you, your family, friends, or your community then you have to DO something different.

I came across this picture the other day, giving 2 meaning to the word fear. For fear is one of the main reasons we don't do things.

What's your view on fear?

I had a busy day on Saturday.

I was a guest speaker at a property investors and Sales training event, held in Brentwood.

How was your weekend?
Was it productive too ?

Let me know in the comments below.

Be your own best friend !

Being your own best friend is one of the most healthy and uplifting mindset traits to have.

Wish me luck. 😱

I have been learning new skills and creating a new signature programme.

What new skills have you been working on ?

The best way to start your week is to plan it.

By planning your week with goals and actions to take, you become the driver of your life and not a passenger.

This means you are in control "the driving seat", rather than just accepting what comes along.

It also means you decide on the destination !

OK enough analogies, but now you understand what I'm saying.

Question..... where are you heading to this week ? (sorry I can't help myself !)

Have a great week.

Better late than never.
Enjoy Joyful June

It's Friday, how did that happen?

Do you feel the same?

Have you managed to achieve your goals for week?

I've not managed everything, but that's OK. I've made progress and that's what matters. I'm going to celebrate that.

Keeping a positive mindset 😀

I've just been to physio and got some more exercises to do. On the drive home I got thinking about exercises for physical health and the comparison to exercises for mental wellbeing.

Now bear with me ! What's the similarities you ask...

Here's how I see it:
* Start small with one or two until a habit is formed and you begin to see results.
* Slowly add other exercises to increase the resilience and results.
* When you "feel better" don't stop else the problem is likely to return.
* Continue the exercises for maintenance of the results.

Exercises you can do for mental wellbeing.
- Daily journaling, get it on paper and out of your head.
- Daily goal setting, and end of day review, especially recognition of achievements.
- Get outside, immerse yourself in nature.
- Connect with people either virtually or in-person.
- Meditation and breathing exercises.

Which ones do you do?
Perhaps you do others, let me know below in the comments below👇

Inspiration is all around us, as I discovered just now.

My partner loves heavy rock and some metal.
There he is wearing his Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt with a line from one of their songs.

"Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost".

So folks, seize the day. !

Make everyday count.

Another week has come to an end.
How has your week been?
Have you made progress, or are you still where you were last Friday?

If you have made progress, congratulations and well done.

If not, don't fret. Revisit your goals and changes your want to pursue, break them down into the smallest steps possible. This will make it easy to do, and not give you any reason to avoid it. You can do it if you really want to. Good Luck.

Enjoy the long bank holiday weekend.

Quote of the day from Jim Rohn.

“If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.”

How many of us use excuses because we think we want something, then don't follow through because it looks too hard, or self-doubt creeps in, or we don't believe we have the skills, or...and the list goes on.

If you truly want something, here's a tip again from Jim Rohn.

“To solve any problem, here are three questions to ask yourself: First, what could I do? Second, what could I read? And third, who could I ask?”

So, what can you do today, read today, or ask today, to help you move forward?

Is life happening to you, or for you?

Don't be a passenger, take action to drive your life your way. !

The best time to take action is NOW.

Not tomorrow or next week. Stop putting it off and take that first step.

If you want different, you have to do different.

Wow what a week !

This week has passed so quickly, and I've been so busy working towards business goals, and meeting lots of fantastic other business owners.

How about you ? How has your week gone ?

What progress have you made?

Take time out to acknowledge what you have achieved, both the tangible and intangible.

What have you learnt that you can build on?

Share your progress in the comments below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Another trip to educate myself to enhance my clients experience.

See you in a few days.

I read an interesting article today about why we say yes to people, when inside we're screaming NO.

A lot of us are people pleasers. We don't like to say no. The article went on to discuss why and how this happens, but here's my take on the subject.....being an ex-people-pleaser myself.

You don't say no because:
- You believe other people are more important, as in you have low self-worth, and you put aside your own needs.
- You don't want to upset others.
- You feel some kind of sense of duty and / or loyalty.
- You like making others happy, it makes you feel good.
- The other person is an authority figure e.g. Parent, Boss.

How does this happen? Well, as with all things, it's ingrained from childhood. You do things for others to be noticed, accepted, liked, praised, validated, and ultimately to feel a sense of belonging. You feel good doing things for others and it gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. It becomes your "go-to".

Unfortunately it can become a slippery slope, and before you know it you ALWAYS says yes. Care needs to be taken to reach a good balance, otherwise you will have completely forgotten about your own wants and needs.

So, why am I sharing this on a Friday you ask.... it's to remind you to do your own thing at the weekend and not be guilted, or strong-armed into doing something you really don't want to.

Enjoy your weekend, YOUR way. 😉

It's important to practice self-care regularly. Take time each day to do something that nourishes your mind, body, and spirit, whether it's reading a book, taking a walk, or practicing meditation. This helps reduce stress and promote positivity.

What self-care activities are you doing for yourself today?
Is it a priority for you or, a nice to have ?

Self-care is a necessity. It is not selfish, it is selfless.

Taking care of yourself benefits everyone around you.

Don't believe me? Try if for yourself and see.

You'll be:
Less stressed, perhaps nicer to everyone?
Healthier, less likely to succumb to colds and coughs.
Enjoy your life more, and be more resilient when facing challenges.

What have you got to lose?

Good morning everyone. I trust you all had a great bank holiday weekend. Perhaps celebrating the coronation of His Majesty the King, catching up with friends and family, or doing jobs around the house.

It's a short week this week, but let's make it count towards achieving our goals.

One of my goals has to been to refresh my logo, which I have done and I am launching this new look TODAY.

See my new logo below. I hope you like it. 😀

What are you taking for granted?
Do you still appreciate the small things in life?
Have you thought about gratitude journaling?

Gratitude journaling is a powerful technique for cultivating a positive mindset. Write down three things you're grateful for each day, and reflect on how they've impacted your life. This helps cultivate a mindset of abundance and positivity.

A great way to start each day with focus on the positive, to help you set your intentions.

Meaningful May Action For Happiness calendar.

Do you find your mind wandering? Usually to something negative right? This doesn't help you stay positive and can de-rail your day.

To cultivate a positive mindset, it's important to focus on what you can control. Let go of things outside of your control, and focus on taking action towards your goals. This helps create a mindset of empowerment and positivity.

Notice when your focus has drifted to the past, or worrying about the future. Acknowledge it, and nudge it back to the here and now. Taking a deep breath will help you achieve this.

You'll get so much done, and feel so much better about everything in your life.

Have a great Tuesday xx

It's Friday and that means........ celebrate your success and progress made this week.

It is important to acknowledge your progress at least weekly. This will help you stay motivated to complete your goals, and keeps momentum for next week.

Success and progress maybe large or small, but as long as you are making progress, you're further ahead than you were.

Go You !!

Have a fantastic Bank Holiday Weekend.

If you have found any of the posts helpful and feel others would benefit, please like and share.

Thank you xx

Tip of the day...

Negative self-talk can hold you back from achieving your goals. Instead, practice positive affirmations and self-compassion to cultivate a more positive mindset.

Would you consider yourself a happy person?

Whether you are or not comes down to your mindset. Cultivating a positive mindset will help you overcome life's challenges and help you navigate through them to become more resilient.

Ways to do this:
* Acknowledge the negative thoughts and feelings.
* Challenge those thoughts and look for the positives and opportunities. (This will become a new habit, and your new go to.)
* Practice mindfulness to keep yourself grounded in the present. No catastrophising.
* Happiness is a choice, choosing to see the good and the positive.

Choose to be Happy 😀

What are you focusing on today?

Are you focused on what's moving you forward towards your goals, or are you focused on the obstacles and the "excuses" holding you back.

You will never get today back again, so make it count. 😀

Making changes in your life.

We all have things we'd like to change in our lives.

For some, just starting to implement the change and taking the first step can be difficult.

For others it's after a few days or weeks that becomes hard, and old habits slip back in.

Things to remember when the going gets tough:
* Slow & steady
* Consistency
* Some short-term "pain" for long-term gain.
* The "WHY" you are doing this.

You've got this.

What has been the best part of your week?

What can you learn from this, and take forward into next week?

It's a busy day today. I'm off to the Surrey Expo in Guildford to meet local businesses and attend some workshops.

What have you got planned for today that helps you move forward ?

Free 30 Mins Consultation - Suzanne Jenkins

Re-post from a year ago......still good advice, if a bit long (you have been warned !)

7 Steps to Happiness

It’s amazing where you find nuggets of help and advice. There I was with the TV on in the background, when I heard Giles Brandreth talking about his personal 7 steps to happiness. I listened with interest and thought, you know what, this is pretty good advice. I rewound the tivo and started taking notes which I would like to share with you all.

His advice was as follows:

Cultivate a passion.
Do something you absolutely love and enjoy doing. Even the Queen has her corgis and her horses. What is that hobby you’ve always wanted to take up?

Be a leaf on a tree.
Bear with me, this will make sense !
Be part of something bigger than yourself that will enrich your life and help you to continue growing. It will nurture you. Become part of a community that supports you and you support it.

Break a mirror.
Whilst it’s important to look after yourself, stop thinking about just yourself. Look up and outside of yourself, be interested in others. Engage and connect with others.

Don’t resist change.
Whether we like it or not things do change. Embrace change, don’t waste your energy on resisting things that you have o influence over. Besides I don’t know about you but, I quite like having a washing machine rather than having to do my washing by hand lol.

Audit your happiness.
List all the things you do that make you happy, then list all the things you do that make you unhappy. Plan to do more of the things that make you happy, and where possible, do less of the things that make you unhappy. Note that there are some things we have no choice over, but you know what I mean.

Live in the moment.
Savor every moment of your day. Don’t worry about what happened yesterday, it is done. Don’t worry about what might happen tomorrow, it’s not here yet. Be focused on the here and now. Don’t let concerns about yesterday or tomorrow detract from your enjoyment of today.

Be Happy.
If you want to be happy then be happy. What does this mean ? I hear you say. Well it simply means doing things to be happy. Smile, wear bright clothes, play, sing, dance, train your mind to believe in the glass being half full etc.

The caveat to this is that you will not be hysterical, falling down with laughter, but you will be generally happy in life.

I do hope you are able to implement some of these things.

If you enjoyed this, and feel that you would like to work with me, then please contact me via my page, send me a message, or book directly a free 30 minute Zoom consultation.
