Farnham Karate Academy hosted a seminar with Wado Academy acting Chief Instructor, Sensei Arthur Meek 8th Dan Renshi on Sunday.
It was a late addition to the calendar and students were put through their paces on basics, plus combinations of okuri ashi and tsugi aghi, using them for various punching and kicking methods.
Stances in Seishan were also repeatedly drilled, along with Pinan Yondan and a new Nihon Kumite and Dan grade combination.
Thanks to Sensei Arthur and everyone who came to train.
Anyone wanting to join us, please come along on Sunday morning at Weydon school.
Please see details on location page at www.surreykarate.co.uk

Everyone at the clubs wishes Molly the best of luck as she starts university in early September.
Yesterday was her last days training with us until the New Year, as she's off to Medical School in St Andrews for 6 years.
A top hard working student, who always gives 100% in training and is a pleasure to have at the clubs.

Last week was exactly 20 years ago that we hosted a visiting group of Wado karate students from Tokyo, Japan for the evening, at our Haslemere dojo.
We did some demos, so did they and we then trained together for a couple of hours together.
A great evening...this short Idori demo was a crowd pleaser!

In 2006 a group of Japanese karateka from Japan came to England and gave a demonstration at the Haslemere karate club during their week long stay. This video ...

An excellent 5 days of intense training at the Winter Course in Guildford this last week.
Lovely to see & train again with our Wado family from so many countries.
The clubs had 3 students taking 2nd Dan at the end of the course.
Sadly Tom & Greg didn't make the grade this time, but congratulations to Nick who passed at the second attempt.
Well done for taking on the challenge gents, and thanks to all from the clubs who attended during the week and the instructors for their knowledge. 🙏👌👍👏

We always used to say nobody fails their red belt...12 years ago, Luke as a 6 year old kid, was the first who actually did!
Last night aged 18, he passed his 3rd kyu brown belt with flying colours.
He showed great technique and his karate couldn't be more different now! 👊
Well done Luke! 👏👏👏
