Frensham Heights

Before the festivities kicked in we held an informal lunchtime concert. As always, it was a real privilege to hear such talented, brave performers in a beautiful intimate venue. Keep an eye out for more informal concerts in the new year, they really celebrate what Frensham is all about.

Manchester City hosted an inspiring weekend of football for our students this term. Training at the Ethiad Campus, wearing 'city blue' kit, was a once in a lifetime experience. The coaches shared their philosophy and approach to football and we played some fantastic matches.

Our incredible nursery to year 3 children melted our hearts last week, with their funny, happy, creative, Frensham take on a traditional nativity play. Performing in our Aldridge Theatre was a wonderful experience at such a young age. Frensham Heights

Frensham hosted two dinner-dances this week. Both were evenings for our students to soak up the atmosphere, listen to the music, enjoy a delicious meal and dance their socks off with friends in the beautiful setting of our long-gallery and ballroom

On one of the coldest nights of the year so far, Frensham hosted their first girls football match. The team worked really hard against a much older opposition and played some excellent shots. We didn't come away with a win but were delighted with this first fixture and the commitment our girls showed. We hope there will be many more to follow.

Last night's 'No one wraps like an Elf' performance by yrs 4 - 6 brought festive songs, Pierre Noel, Weather Reporting Reindeer, an incredible back-stage team, lots of laughs and wrapping Elves to our Aldridge Theatre. The festive season certainly is in full flow here at Frensham

When maths went arty! The work of American artist Ellsworth Kelly is being used to support year 7s maths studies. Students have been creating artwork, then calculating the fraction, decimal and percentage of each colour used.

Last night saw a fun, pantomime style 'Star Warts: the Umpire Strikes Back' show in our theatre, put on by our drama club students from years 6 to 8. Inspired, curious minds and insightful ideas made this performance such fun. Aldridge Theatre Frensham

To support their study of ‘An Inspector Calls’ for GCSE English Literature, year 11 headed off to watch the National Theatre’s touring production. The students were super engaged and fascinated by the Birling family’s cosy life literally and metaphorically being dismantled.

Our students represented Ukraine and Albania, debating food sustainability and international money laundering in developing countries at a Model United Nations event RGS Guildford. It was a fantastic experience and so much was learnt about geopolitics, debating and the formalities of the UN

The Christmas lights in Farnham are now twinkling away and we enjoyed being part of making this happen. Alongside other local schools and groups, we took to the stage and got the festivities started

We lunched, chatted and sang together! Our friends from Brightwells Gostrey, a local community centre, returned to their school days and visited us for a hearty roast dinner. Volunteers from years 5 to 8 set up, served, cleared up and sang to our guests. We even made time for a game of bingo.

Making music with friends. Is there a better way to spend a wet break time? We love that our students actively seek out opportunities to be creative and spend time doing what they are passionate about

If we send each student off as a happy, self-confident, well-rounded young person, then we've done a good job. A broad curriculum of creative, physical and academic subjects is vital for this - alongside endless opportunities for wider experiences outside the classroom

A palaeontologists dream! Friday was spent learning about dinosaurs, recreating fossils, hearing from experts and curating a museum of handmade prehistoric creatures Dinostar - The Dinosaur Experience

We lit up the sky over our beautiful Main House last night. It was wonderful to come together, listen to music, play games, be warmed by a roaring bonfire and watch the spectacular fireworks. Thank you to the Friends of Frensham

This time last week the whole school set out on an 8k charity walk in the stunning countryside surrounding Frensham Heights. Team spirit, determination and laughter were in abundance. It has been fun in the sun for a group of students in Granada this half term. From hiking in a nature reserve, learning to cook paella and soaking up the architecture of Seville to flamenco dancing and a tapas feast, we truly made the most of our time in Spain

It was an amazing insight into the Cybersecurity industry. It's easier than we thought to get into someone else’s computer, especially using Social Engineering

The Junior School have done Feel Good Week proud. We have celebrated being kind, creative, brave, being me and being Frensham in the best possible ways. We have walked, danced and moved every morning in the playground, as well as dressed up with funky hair, odd socks, comfy pjs/onesies and jazzy hats!

Fight, determination and inspiration were in abundance on the netball tour to Cardiff. There was professional coaching, lots of attacking movement and game play practice and we got to meet the Ugandan National Team

Year 10 and 11 students focused on revision skills with Elevate Education last week. Utilising the syllabus to frame study, structuring and reviewing notes, conceptual learning and how to use practice papers were all covered. Music feeds the soul, so we want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to listen, perform, explore and enjoy a wide range of music here at Frensham

Our children continue to thrive in Forest School. Troll dens, rope swings, woodland games and even a woodland wedding all fuelling their imaginations and enabling them to learn in the great outdoors

Last week Year 7 spent four days away from home building resilience and independence on a visit to Hadrian’s Wall. They walked the Wall, visited a plethora of Roman ruins, dabbled with a little camping and had an evening stargazing in Northumberland’s Dark Sky Park
