Last week, the children enjoyed colouring lots of special pictures and making birthday cards for King Charles.
We have sent their wonderful creations to Buckingham Palace for His Majesty to see, and we are all hoping for a reply. The children are very excited and are eagerly waiting to see if they receive a response!

What a fantastic Father’s Day morning we had! Our lovely daddies enjoyed bacon butties, orange juice, apple juice, tea, coffee and a delicious selection of Danish pastries.
They then spent quality time with their children, creating amazing robots from junk modelling materials. It was wonderful to see so much creativity, laughter and special moments shared together.
Thank you to all the dads who joined us and helped make the morning so special. 💙🤖✨

We are thrilled to launch our new SEN Support Group for our Acornwood Parents!💜
Drop your child at pre-school and enjoy a friendly chat, coffee and cake with other parents and carers at our setting.
We understand how isolating the journey can sometimes feel, so we have created a warm, welcoming and judgement-free space where you can connect with others who understand.
Please pop along, stay for a cuppa and be part of a supportive community.
Our first session is Monday 8th June. We look forward to seeing you soon!

THANK YOU GRANDPARENTS
Thank you to all our grandparents who attended our grandparents event on Thursday. It was magical to see you all enjoying all the different activities with your grandchildren, as well as a lovely cup of tea and cake together.
We truly value the important role you play in your grandchildren’s lives. It was fantastic to meet you all, have such lovely chats, and share this special time together. Thank you for making the event so wonderful.
The children were thrilled to have you at pre-school, and I’m sure they’ll be asking for you to stay again on Monday!

How are your seeds growing?
The children explored a range of important early science concepts through planting, observing, and caring for their seeds. They learnt that plants need water, sunlight, and nutrients to grow, and they were able to compare different growing conditions by experimenting with beans on wet paper towels and cress heads on cotton wool.
Observing the bean roots through the clear plastic cups gave them a wonderful opportunity to see root development firsthand and understand how roots help plants absorb water and nutrients.
Planting tomatoes, sunflowers, runner beans, and broad beans also encouraged responsibility and patience as the children cared for their seeds and monitored changes over time.
The investigations helped develop their curiosity, observational skills, and understanding of the natural world through practical exploration and discussion.
