Acornwood Pre-School

Acornwood Pre-School Acornwood Pre-School offers sessional care for children aged 2 years 6 months - 4 years. We moved to Southwood Community Centre in the Summer of 1998.

We provide 15 government funded hours that you can spread across the week from Monday-Thursday. Acornwood Pre-school was opened in September 1987 at the Baptist Church in Cove. Most of the equipment needed to start the pre-school was obtained through fund raising. Acornwood Pre-School offers sessional care for 2 year - 4 year olds. We have our own enclosed outdoor play area, a hall and two main rooms. We provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment that promotes learning though play, using a wide range of resources, and the opportunity for children to develop their social skills as they play alongside other children. Session times:
Monday- Thursday during term times
9:00am - 12:00pm (no lunch)
9:00am - 12:45pm (with lunch)
9:00am - 2:45pm all day session
At Acornwood Pre-school we offer 15 government funded hours the term after your child's third birthday.

Last week, the children enjoyed colouring lots of special pictures and making birthday cards for King Charles.

We have sent their wonderful creations to Buckingham Palace for His Majesty to see, and we are all hoping for a reply. The children are very excited and are eagerly waiting to see if they receive a response!

What a fantastic Father’s Day morning we had! Our lovely daddies enjoyed bacon butties, orange juice, apple juice, tea, coffee and a delicious selection of Danish pastries.

They then spent quality time with their children, creating amazing robots from junk modelling materials. It was wonderful to see so much creativity, laughter and special moments shared together.

Thank you to all the dads who joined us and helped make the morning so special. 💙🤖✨
