🏴‍☠️ Ahoy, me hearties! 🏴‍☠️

We’ve had lots of pirate fun at nursery as we celebrated National Talk Like a Pirate Day!
The children have been busy singing pirate songs and making up their own dances to go along with them - developing their confidence, creativity, listening skills and ability to express themselves through music and movement.
We’ve also been walking the plank! This was a great opportunity to practise balance, coordination and physical confidence while pretending to be brave little pirates.
Our imaginations really came to life as we pretended to build our very own pirate ship in the messy room.
And, of course, no pirate adventure would be complete without a story. We enjoyed reading My Granny Is a Pirate, joining in with the exciting adventure.
All in all - we've all had a brilliant day!

What wonderful parents we have 🥰 This was a parting gift from a family who has been part of the Pear Tree family for many years. We are truly touched, things like this bring tears to our eyes but fill our hearts with love 🥰 We will miss all of our 2026 leavers but send them off in the knowledge that they are ready to flourish in the next stage of their journey. Today the baby room children enjoyed going out for a walk and it was interesting to see the change. Unfortunately the pond is now completely dry but we still saw some Egyptian Geese and someone had put a bucket of water out for the wildlife to drink - showing care and concern for their environment. We walked around the pond twice and enjoyed the shade of the trees. We will visit again once the long awaited rain has spread it's magic and talk about the changes that have taken place.

We are recruiting for an Early Years Educator to work within our baby room.
The role would be:
• 2 days a week
• 18.5 hours per week
We prioritise natural learning, outdoor time, fresh air, gentle exploration and letting babies discover the world at their own pace, following the curiosity approach. Our team is a genuine family like group who support each other and create a warm, home from home feel for the children.
We’ve tried other methods of advertising but have had no luck so far.

What a wonderful day we had yesterday celebrating our amazing little graduates! Over the past few years our children have been busy learning, laughing, exploring, and growing in so many exciting ways. From their very first friendships to their curious questions and creative adventures, every moment has been full of discovery and joy. We have watched them become more confident, independent, and full of personality, and we couldn’t be prouder. As they get ready for their next big adventure, we know they will continue to shine, make us smile, and achieve great things. Well done to all our fantastic graduates – keep dreaming big, keep having fun, and never stop exploring!

The babies explored paint using their hands and fingers, enjoying the different colours and textures. They showed curiosity as they touched, smeared, and patted the paint, watching the marks they made. Some babies used their whole hands, while others explored with their fingertips, demonstrating increasing confidence and independence.

This sensory activity supported their creativity, fine motor development, and early communication as practitioners modelled language such as "soft," "wet," "red," and "squishy." The babies were encouraged to make choices and explore at their own pace in a safe and stimulating environment.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of celebrating the 5th anniversary of our wonderful Hazel being part of the Pear Tree family.

She is truly an incredible person, and we feel so fortunate to have her in our lives. Thank you, Hazel, for the past five years — not only for the delicious meals you prepare each day (which both the children and adults absolutely love!), but for everything else you do. You care for everyone so thoughtfully, create fantastic menus, and go above and beyond in countless ways — always with a smile.

We appreciate you more than words can say.

Yesterday we celebrated Pancake Day and our wonderful chef Hazel treated us to special homemade pancakes for snack along with fresh fruit and a little bit of cream on the side…delicious! We had very happy children (and staff) with some very full tummies 😊🥰🥞🍳
