📚 School Readiness 📚

School readiness refers to how simple the transition is for children heading to school, and how adjusted they are socially, physically, and intellectually.

A child being ‘school ready’ does not refer to children being able to read and/or write, nor will this give them any ‘head start’; however refers to children being able to confidently part from their parent/carer, put on their own coats and shoes, be confidently toilet trained, show an interest in learning, be able to socialise with other children, express their needs to their teachers and much more (see poster above!)

Children showing an interest in reading and writing will be positively encouraged with mark making, letter recognition and self practiced writing.

At Playdays we work hard to ensure children get the best start to their school journey, and work together with parents and schools to ensure each child is ‘school ready’ ✏️🏫
