Ok big well done to Amber, Bonnie,James and Abigail on your 9th kyu grading!!
We started with a warm up then through the basic strikes and blocks! Then moving through maigeri forwards and backwards! The we had a 4 move combo going through in zencusadachi, some light shadow sparring and finishing up with logon kata performed with full bow in, kata done to their own timing (no count) and correct finish!! We did that twice as it was so good the first time!!! The kids ability is well above the grade they attempted but I would sooner that than scraping through!! Ok now moving on to a new kata and light sparring! And guess what??? Basics basics basics!!!

Ok kids all ready for grading!! Basics all good/kihon kata inc bow in really good! Done to their own timing!! Etiquette inc entering/leaving the dojo good! Spirit in kiai good! Tbh they are well above the grade they going to attempt but for me that is a plus! The grading should have been this wed evening but due to a covid incident it’s going to be put back a week or so!! I’m sure all will go well!!!
