The school production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical Jr is coming up in March on Thursday 3rd (7pm), Friday 4th (7pm) and Saturday 5th (2.30pm and 7pm).

We're putting a shout out here for anyone who can come along to help sell refreshments during the interval of each show. The more people we have, the easier it is. We'll be selling drinks, and snacks at the back of the main hall.

Some of you (like me) may have used EasyFundraising in the past to raise money for your child's primary school and (like me) have forgotten to change schools to Faringdon Community College PTA!

EasyFundraising is a really simple way of raising funds whilst shopping online and it doesn't cost you a penny. I raised over £130 for our previous Primary School by doing absolutely nothing other than using the EasyFundraising reminder in my browser. It's that simple. Thank you!

Wow, another thank you to everyone who supported the Year 7/8 disco. We raised over £600 from ticket sales and refreshments!

Thanks to everyone who came along to dance, sing, support or help out at the Year 7/8 disco this evening. We had an amazing time and smashed out some banging tunes. And if they think they're too cool for school, ask them about the Macarena...although AJ Tracey probably got the loudest singing 🤣

The Year 7/8 Disco is coming up on Friday 29 November from 7:30pm to 9pm and we're putting a shout out here for anyone who can come along to help sell refreshments on the night. The more people we have, the easier it is. We'll be selling drinks, snacks and glow sticks at the back of the main hall.

We'll need a few people to help set up beforehand from 7pm and clear away afterwards until around 9.30pm. If you can help for all or part of this time, reply here or message us. Thanks! Martin

Faringdon Community College PTA is now registered with Easyfundraising – if you are not already registered for your child’s primary school please register or just switch to donate to FCC PTA every time you shop online with a huge list of retailers. This includes, Amazon, Argos, Next, Clarks, Mountain Warehouse, Hobbycraft, Game, ATG tickets, trainline, Booking.com and Expedia, to name but a few!

LEADER FOR FRENCH TWINNING YOUTH EXCHANGE
Each summer a group of French children from our twin town in Normandy visit Faringdon for a week, and then 5-10 Faringdon children make the return journey to le Mele sur Sarthe for 6 days. The children are between 12 and 15 and are accompanied by 2 leaders aged 18 - 21. Whilst in France there is a full programme of activities, organised by the French Twinning Committee, and hosting is by families (generally of children who made the trip to Faringdon)
The responsibility of the leaders is to look after the children on the ferry crossings and be with the children on excursions (although there will be French adults in charge).
The travel costs are paid for by Faringdon Twinning and accommodation is free (with a French family) - just take a gift for the family. Entrance fees and personal shopping should be the only expenses.
If possible, the leader could help with supervision of the French children in Faringdon and go on day-trips with them, although the French children will have their own leaders.
This is great experience of a leadership role, looks good on a personal statement / CV, and is a nice (virtually free) holiday. Some knowledge of French is helpful but not essential.
The dates are 21-27th July 2019 in le Mele; (and 14-21st July in Faringdon)
