Last week in the preschool room we have been enjoying The Snail and the Whale, exploring shells, textures and snail trails through playdough and creating our own seashell designs with pearlised paint. 🎨🐚
Our cardboard box village was a huge hit, inspiring lots of imaginative play, stories and teamwork! 🏠
To finish the week, we cared for our growing stick insects, with some children even feeling brave enough to hold them! 🐛💚

This week, our preschool children enjoyed a Snail and the Whale-themed playdough activity. 🐌🌊 They eagerly explored different textures and made marks in the sand to create their own snail trails. They also took a close look at the patterns and textures found on shells, noticing and discussing similarities and differences.

The activity encouraged sensory exploration, creativity and fine motor development, while also introducing early mathematical language as the children compared patterns, shapes and textures.

Meet the new management team!

We’re very excited to introduce Katie and Stacey! We’re looking forward to getting to know all of our wonderful children, families and team even more, and working together to make our nursery the very best it can be.

🍂 Leaf Printing Fun! 🎨

Our babies had lots of fun collecting leaves and filling their basket, ready for our leaf-printing activity! They enjoyed exploring the different colours, shapes, sizes and textures, feeling the smooth and rough surfaces of the leaves.

We then got creative with paint, using the leaves to make beautiful prints. The babies loved exploring the cool, wet and squishy feeling of the paint as they dipped the leaves and pressed them onto the paper. 🍁

We also introduced the Makaton signs for the different colours we were using. The babies had great fun mixing colours, creating their prints and having a go at copying the signs

We will be holding our pirate celebration day on Wednesday, 12th August.

A Yo-ho-ho send-off for Steph, with lots of swashbuckling fun and games throughout the day and finishing with a pirate tea party at 3.30pm.

All are welcome to join us, so if it's a non-nursery day and you'd like to come along for the tea party at 3.30pm, please do let us know: RSVP via email, parent app, or room sign-up at the class doors. By August 3rd. We would love to see you.

Dress up optional, but we would love to see as many pirate-themed costumes as possible!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our lovely afternoon event on Wednesday.
We had so many families, gorgeous food and the wonderful Basil And Crew Mobile Farm
