Set in Hampshire’s idyllic countryside, we offer a culture of kindness, strong values and opportunity. Boundary Oak School is a friendly and caring school for 3-16 year olds: small enough for all of its pupils to be known to each other and by all members of staff, but large enough for there to be a wide range of opportunities for each and everyone to reach his or her full potential and to discover new interests and talents. We believe firmly in the importance of the development of the individual, supported and encouraged by the whole school community. Consequently, the family values of kindness, encouragement and respect for one another lie at the heart of life here. We are blessed with a rural site that has easy access to transport links. Boundary Oak School is set in 23 acres of beautiful parkland close to Junction 10 of the M27, with several rail stations nearby offering routes to London and other major cities. Southampton Airport and ferry routes to the Isle of Wight and the continent are also just a short drive away. Recent investments and developments continue to improve the excellent facilities on offer at the school; new senior school classrooms, new sports hall, new dining hall and new Design & Technology centre compliment the existing astro, swimming pool, tennis courts, science laboratories, outdoor learning classroom, horticultural centre, traversing climbing wall, adventure playground, rugby pitches, extensive playing fields, woodland school, theatre, music centre and refurbished boarding house. Boundary Oak School is positively buzzing and could not be a more vibrant and exciting environment to challenge, stretch and nurture!

From sweet science experiments to woodland campfires, creative inspiration to culinary competition, it’s been a half term full of discovery, adventure and memorable moments at Boundary Oak! 🍂 Here’s a look at just some of the highlights from the first half of the autumn term.

🧬 DNA, with a sugary spin! Year 11 used sweets to build DNA models and explore the structure of the double helix.

🌿 Year 10 explored the worlds of food, art and photography at Kew Gardens, finding fresh inspiration in the world around them.

🌍 Our pupils celebrated European Day of Languages with a treasure hunt that brought cultures and languages together.

🏕️ Year 4 embraced their residential campout, taking on new challenges from fencing to building slingshot frames before gathering for woodland campfires and toasted s’mores.

👨‍🍳 Ready, steady, cook! Our MasterChef competition served up plenty of creativity, with MasterChef finalist Luke Emmess joining us as guest judge.

🪩 Our Junior School Charity Club lit up the dance floor with a fantastic Glow Disco, full of music, colour and brilliant dance moves.

🏺 Year 3 travelled back thousands of years at Butser Ancient Farm, exploring reconstructed roundhouses and discovering what everyday life was like in the Iron Age.

With only a few days left, we look forward to what the second half of the autumn term brings! 🍁

AI is the future… right? 🤖

Last week, pupils from Prep through to the Senior School took to the stage for our Inter-House Debating Competition, demonstrating confidence, curiosity and a willingness to engage with issues that matter to them.

Our pupils debated a range of contemporary topics, including the Government’s social media ban, whether mobile phones remain safe for young people, and the impact of artificial intelligence. Each motion challenged them to consider different perspectives, construct thoughtful arguments and defend their positions with clarity and conviction.

Supporting our pupils as they develop their public speaking and oracy skills is an important part of their journey at Boundary Oak. From their earliest years, pupils are encouraged to express their views, listen to others, think critically and communicate with confidence.

We’re incredibly proud to see our pupils finding their voices, challenging ideas and engaging in such spirited and thoughtful debate. 🎤💭

Step inside the Boarding House with Lucy. 🏡

One of our newest boarders takes us along for a little look around. From her own cosy space to a stop in the boarder’s kitchenette, we find Miss Rutherford, our new Head of Boarding, getting ready for Wacky Wednesday!

Wacky Wednesday is an evening where pupils can expect a selection of snacks that are perhaps a little unfamiliar, but often very tasty! 👀

We also meet two of our Boarding Assistants, who are part of everyday life in the house, as well as a very important hello to Nellie, our resident boarding house pup! 🐾

Year 5 take on Fairthorne Manor! 🌿

For many children, residential trips provide some of the most memorable moments of their school years. Last week, our Year 5 pupils visited Fairthorne Manor and were sure to challenge themselves through a range of outdoor activities. We are impressed with how they supported one another through new experiences and discovered strengths they may not have realised they had.

Beyond the excitement of the activities themselves, it was wonderful to see the strong friendships within this cohort continue to grow. Fairthorne Manor marks the first of many residential experiences taking place this academic year, and if this trip is anything to go by, we're in for an exciting year!

To mark the start of the new academic year, a couple of our Year 1 pupils had the opportunity to sit down and interview our new Head Boy and Head Girl. 💬

With an introduction, lots of questions and a few words of advice for the year ahead, our younger pupils see the older children taking on new roles and responsibilities, while our Senior pupils have the chance to become mentors and role models. 🌿
