Our number one priority is the safety and wellbeing of the students and staff at Crofton School. The Met Office has now extended its Red Weather Warning for extreme heat to cover a wider area of the South of England, bringing even higher temperatures tomorrow.

Therefore, Crofton School will be closed to all students on Thursday 25 June.

The Met Office Red Warning is due to expire at 9:00pm on Thursday night. It is our current plan to reopen as normal on Friday 26 June. We will review the situation and write to you tomorrow afternoon to confirm the final arrangements for Friday.

We are delighted to celebrate our students outstanding achievements outside school with the Jessie Leigh Dance & Cheer Academy.

Jasmine P (Year 9) who competed with her Panthers team, won Gold last weekend, at the first-ever European Summit competition.

Competing against 12 other teams in their age category, the Panthers delivered an exceptional performance and also achieved the second-highest score across the entire European Championship, which featured 373 teams from 12 nations.

This remarkable success is the result of a year of hard work, commitment, and dedication from Jasmine and her teammates.
Their achievement has secured their place in history as the youngest-ever team to be awarded 1st place at a JLDC competition.

The Panthers achieved an incredible final score of 99.1, with a combined competition score of 98.9 across the event.

Congratulations also to Willow M (Year 11), who competed in the Predators team.

If you have any outside school achievements you would like us to share, please get in touch.

Last night the Crofton Community Book Club met to discuss the spring read... 'West with Giraffes' by Lynda Rutledge.

We also choose our 2026 summer reads. We are offering 2 titles and our members can decide if they would like to read 1 of these or both! We will meet in the autumn term to discuss these.

The books will be available to purchase on ScoPay soon. We will keep you updated.

We are supporting our local bookshop in Lee-on-the-Solent. An order will then be put in to The Book Shop and once we receive the order, the copies will be distributed in time for the summer holidays!

New members are always welcome! This is a great opportunity to meet new people, make friends, and enjoy a relaxed discussion about the book. There is no pressure and no awkward questioning, just a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We also have fun activities and refreshments for everyone to enjoy. We'd love to see you there!

A huge thank you to Ricky Martin for taking the time to come back to Crofton School on PDL Drop Down Day last Thursday and share his experiences with our students.

It was great for students to hear about his journey from school to becoming a successful business owner. Ricky spoke honestly about the setbacks he has faced, the opportunities he has taken and the role that hard work and determination have played in his success.

His talk was engaging, inspiring and full of practical advice. The emphasis he placed on communication, teamwork, leadership and resilience really resonated with students, and his story showed how these skills can open doors and create opportunities in the future.

We are extremely grateful to Ricky for giving up his time and providing such a positive experience for our students.
