⭐️ So exciting ⭐️

The summer holidays can be wonderful…

…but they can also be challenging.

For many families, routines change, emotions run high, and behaviour can feel more difficult to understand.

Just a reminder that JLP Support Strategies is still here throughout the summer if you need advice, support or a listening ear.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, emotional regulation, behaviour, school worries, or SEND-related challenges, you’re not expected to figure it all out alone.

I hope you’re all finding moments of calm amongst the chaos. 💜

Some of you may have seen me talking recently about an idea I've been working on.

I'm really pleased to say that The Holding Space now has its own page. 🌿

Many of you know me through JLP Support Strategies , and that isn't going anywhere.

The Holding Space is something a little different. It's a welcoming local community that I'm creating for parents and carers supporting children and young people with additional needs - a place to meet others who understand, share experiences if you want to, listen if you don't, and feel supported without judgement or expectation.

My hope is to create regular, relaxed meet-ups where people can connect, find a moment of calm and remember that they don't have to navigate everything alone.

It's still early days, but if this sounds like something you'd be interested in, I'd love you to follow the page and join the journey as it develops.

Because sometimes parents need someone to hold space for them too. 💜

🌿 Sunday Success 🌿

Parenting isn't about perfection - especially when you're navigating SEND.

Sometimes the biggest victories are the ones nobody else notices.

Maybe this weekend...

💜 Your child tried something new.
💜 They coped with a situation that would usually feel overwhelming.
💜 You found a moment to laugh together.
💜 You advocated for your child when it felt difficult.
💜 You simply made it through a tough day.

Whatever your success looks like this weekend, I'd love to celebrate it with you.

Because every step forward matters.

* If you're new here… welcome 🙂*

Over the last few days, I've been lucky enough to welcome lots of new faces to this page, so I thought I'd introduce myself.

I'm Jenni, the person behind JLP Support Strategies.

I work alongside parents, carers and schools to support children with SEND, SEMH needs, anxiety and behaviour that can sometimes feel difficult to understand.

My approach has never been about blame, punishment or quick fixes.

It's about listening.

It's about understanding what's really going on beneath the behaviour.

It's about building relationships that help children feel safe enough to learn, grow and thrive.

Many of the families I support have spent years feeling unheard, overwhelmed or unsure where to turn. My hope is that this page becomes a place where you feel understood, whether you ever work with me or not.

You'll find practical strategies, gentle reminders, evidence-informed ideas and, hopefully, a reminder that you're not doing this alone.

Thank you for being here.

I'm really excited about what's ahead, especially as I begin developing something I've wanted to create for a long time - a local space where SEND parents can simply come together, have a cuppa and know they're with people who truly understand.

Any questions please let me know.

Can I ask my local SEND families something?

I've been thinking...

So many parents tell me they feel isolated, exhausted, misunderstood, or like they're constantly having to explain their child's needs. Sometimes you don't need another appointment or another report - you just need to sit with people who get it.

I'm wondering whether there would be any interest in a regular local parent meet-up.

Not therapy.

Not a formal support group.

Just a relaxed, welcoming space with tea, coffee, biscuits and honest conversation. A place where you can meet other parents who understand the highs, the lows and everything in between.

I could also include short sessions on topics that parents often ask about, such as:
💜 Understanding behaviour
💜 Anxiety and emotional regulation
💜 EHCPs and navigating the SEND system
💜 Working with schools
💜 Practical strategies you can use at home

Before I spend time organising anything, I'd really love to know...

Is this something you would come to?

If yes, tell me:
☕ Would you prefer daytime or evening?
📍 What area would suit you?
💭 What would you most want from something like this?

Even if it's not for you, I'd really appreciate a like, comment or share so I can find the parents who might need it.

Can we normalise this?

Parents...

What's one thing you've stopped apologising for because it's what your child genuinely needs?

For example...

💜 Leaving places early.

💜 Saying no to birthday parties.

💜 Wearing headphones in public.

💜 Taking movement breaks.

💜 Bringing safe foods everywhere.

💜 Taking a mental health day.

💜 Choosing connection over compliance.

Every family is different, and what works for one child may not work for another.

I'd love to hear yours in the comments. 👇

You never know who might read your comment today and feel a little less alone.
