🎬 A Big‑Screen Moment
We went to the Into Film Awards 2026 yesterday.
Didn’t come home with a trophy, but we did sit in ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, full of famous people watching our animation on the big screen.
Being nominated was a win in itself and the industry eyes on our work made it even better.

🏛️🌾 Year 3 Explore Bignor Roman Villa
Year 3 spent the day stepping back in time at Bignor Roman Villa, exploring the mosaics, buildings and stories that bring Roman Britain to life. From seeing the craftsmanship up close to discovering how the villa was found, it was a brilliant chance to connect classroom learning with real history.

🌿 June Log‑Pile Behaviour Report 📹
June’s nature cam footage continues to prove that wildlife and school children run on the same operating system.
🦊 Fox: Barely moved. Strong “Nothing to see here, Miss”.
🦡 Badger: Walked straight towards the camera with the urgency of someone who ‘’really needs the loo’’…honest.
🐀 Rat: Stood up on its back legs - definatly “in charge”.
🐿️ Squirrel: Collided with the camera at speed — classic “Miss isn’t looking… run”.
🐸 Frog: Sat perfectly still for its photo. The only one following instructions, obviously.

👩🍳 Beetroot Hummus Masterclass
The South Downs Food Festival was buzzing today, and our horticulturalist stole the show with a hands‑on beetroot hummus masterclass.
Visiting children chopped, blended and tasted their way through vibrant, home‑grown produce — discovering just how delicious fresh food can be.
A brilliant celebration of local flavours and curious young cooks.

🌊🐚 Shoreline Science with HIOWWT
Year 4 spent a brilliant session down on the Portchester shoreline with the team from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, turning our local coast into their outdoor classroom.
With expert guidance, the children explored tidal pools, identified coastal wildlife, and learned how this unique habitat supports an incredible range of species. They practised careful observation, thoughtful questioning, and how to protect the fragile ecosystems right on our doorstep.
Curiosity, science, and salty sea air - the perfect combination for hands‑on learning.

🌿 Chelsea Gold, Nine Years On
Nine years ago, back in 2017, Wicor took a little bit of Portchester magic to the Chelsea Flower Show, creating fairy‑house designs that stood proudly alongside the best in the world. ✨🌱
That year’s Best in Show designer, James Basson, captured the spirit of Chelsea perfectly:
“It’s a dream come true… We challenge what is pretty and what is beautiful.”
Our pupils did exactly that -challenged expectations, created something beautiful, and helped bring home a GOLD result. Not bad for a primary school with muddy knees and big ideas. 💚
Since then, we’ve grown gardens, built habitats, planted orchards, opened ferneries, and watched hundreds of children discover the joy of learning outdoors. The seeds we planted in 2017 have grown into something bigger and bolder. 🌿✨

🌿 EcoFayre 2026: Bigger, Better, Greener
Our 4th EcoFayre and easily our biggest and best yet.
The rain stayed away, people discovered new ways to live greener, and the atmosphere was fantastic.
What makes this event special is that it’s completely free - for our smallholders and for our community - because we want to make sustainable living accessible to everyone in Portchester.
A huge thank‑you to our brilliant vendors, and to the staff and volunteers whose hard work made it all possible.
