Pretty Muddy 2026! 💕🏅

What an amazing day! Emily, Tacha, Sam, Fiona, Mandy and Matt B took part in Race for Life Pretty Muddy and yes, we got very muddy!

At the event, it was inspiring to see so many people come together, those who have bravely fought cancer, and families and friends taking part in the memory of loved ones, all to raise money for a great cause.

We’re delighted to share that Team Park Day has raised 🥁….£505!
Thank you to everyone who sponsored us! Your generosity and support means so much to us all.

A huge thank you as well to 1D Printing for our brilliant personalised T‑shirts!

Today, we have been celebrating VE Day at Park Day. Some of our children and staff wore red, white, and blue to mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in Europe. 🇬🇧

Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of activities and invitations to play. They enjoyed making and decorating their own paper spitfires, roleplaying a traditional tea party using playdough, and exploring VE Day and British‑themed tuff trays filled with opportunities for learning.

A small group of children also took a walk to the village war memorial, where they looked closely at the laid poppies.🇬🇧

World Book Day🌍📖

This week we celebrated World Book Day, and what an exciting week it has been!
Many children arrived at nursery dressed as their favourite storybook characters, excited to show off their costumes.

Throughout the week, we explored a variety of much loved stories using story trays and story sacks to bring them to life. Some of our favourites included:
📚The Gruffalo
📚Stickman
📚Elmer
📚The Tiger Who Came to Tea
📚We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

The children showed a lot of excitement exploring many different stories, acting them out, and taking part in activities inspired by many stories. 📖

We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating together and sharing our favourite stories! 🧡📚

What a bright and beautiful day at Park Day! ☀️🎨

Today, we celebrated the Holi Festival of Colour with colourful tuff trays, and lots of exciting powder throwing. The children loved exploring the colours and learning about how Holi is celebrated!

🧧GONG HEI FAT CHOI!🧧

Today marks the start of Chinese New Year, and the Park Day children have been celebrating in so many exciting ways. They explored Chinese themed sensory trays, created their own lanterns, and enjoyed role‑playing in our very own Chinese restaurant.🍜🥢

To deepen our learning about China, the Pre-school and some of our Oak children took a walk around the village for a dragon dance. The children sang songs, proudly wore their dragon masks, and showed off a variety of dances. Along the way, we wished the lovely Stubbington community “Gong hei fat choi!”

This week, some of our Pre‑School children took part in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch 🦅🐦‍⬛

On Friday, we wrapped up warm and went for a walk through Stubbington Park. The children brought along the binoculars they had made back at nursery and used them to look and listen carefully for any birds.

We spotted 2 magpies, 6 pigeons, 2 crows, and lots of seagulls! 🐦

This activity supported our maths development as the children counted each bird and recorded their findings on a tally chart. We also talked about how some birds will soon be returning to the UK for the summer months. Using our sense of hearing, we listened closely for bird sounds as we explored.🐦‍⬛

During our walk, the children showed enthusiasm and curiosity about the natural environment around them. They collected leaves and sticks and noticed and commented on the range of colours they could see.🍁🪾
