Whiteley Preschool Christmas Fair
Saturday 7th December 3-5pm @ Whiteley Community Centre.

Entry £1 per adult, tickets to see Father Christmas are on sale now priced at £3 per child.

There will be lots of opportunities to take part in games, crafts and win prizes. We will also be joined by some local businesses selling their products.

We are thrilled to share with you our Ofsted Report from our recent inspection at Whiteley Preschool North. We are delighted that we were awarded a Good by the inspector. Here are some statements from the report:

"Staff know children well and use this knowledge to prioritise their emotional well-being. For example, staff make themselves available for children who may need extra support on arrival. They take time to offer reassurance and comfort, helping children feel safe, secure and ready to learn. Children form meaningful friendships
with their peers. They listen and consider each other's opinions and help each other to complete tasks. Children demonstrate high levels of confidence and a secure sense of belonging as they excitedly show the inspector their play spaces."

"Staff promote children's independence by teaching them the skills they need to complete tasks by themselves."

"Parents report that their children thoroughly enjoy the time they
spend at pre-school and the strong attachments they make with their key
person."

We are looking forward to seeing lots of you at our Christmas Fayre tomorrow which is being held at Whiteley Community Centre from 3-5pm. There will be a selection of local businesses with us selling lots of fabulous items & Christmas gifts. Including chocolates, cards, jams & chutneys, wax melts, bespoke artwork & cards. There will also be lots of games & activities for the children to take part & refreshments available. Entrance free £1 per adult.

The council has put in place a variety of support for families and residents in Hampshire effected by the “cost of living” increases. Here is a link to the helpful packages of support.

Help with the cost of living The ongoing struggle with the cost of living poses a significant challenge for many Hampshire residents who are having to make difficult choices regarding their household finances.

Maintaining positive relationships with parents helps us in achieving our goal of ensuring all children feel safe and secure in their preschool environment; this promotes learning and curiosity in children. Children who are anxious and unhappy will find learning very difficult. It is our aim to make the separation from parents/carers as smooth as possible.

Some recent feedback received from a parent of a September starter at our community centre site.

"I have been so impressed by how positive the whole experience has been. You can really tell the staff build wonderful relationships with the children, it certainly feels like they take the early years development seriously and I'm just so pleased she has settled so quickly. Thank you for making this transition so easy."

Tesco In-Store Vote!

We are delighted to let you know that you can now vote for Whiteley Preschool in Tesco's Community Grants Scheme. Voting will commence in store from the first week of July 2023 until the end of September 2023.

Please vote for us so that we are able to use the grant to purchase a new playhouse in the garden at Whiteley Community Centre.

Whiteley Preschool have spaces for September at both our community centre site and our North site which is based in Cornerstone Primary School. If you are looking for a preschool from September and would like to book a visit at either setting please contact us.

Whiteley Preschool are looking for an individual to join our friendly and dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be reliable, motivated and have an enthusiastic attitude towards their work.

We can offer the ideal candidate:

Term time only working from 08:30-15:30 Monday-Friday.

Qualification not essential, training and opportunities for career progression.

You will work as part of a team to provide a safe and stimulating environment which meets the needs of all children.
