~~ School Leavers Networking Evening~
yesterday evening we hosted our first School Leavers Networking evening, inviting the parents of children who are about to start school in September 2026. This was an opportunity for other parents with children attending the same schools to get to know one another and share their thoughts and worries and for ourselves to reassure and discuss what we do as a nursery to ensure your child is successful and prepared and ready to go to school.

Thank you to our lovely Chef Shelly for providing us with her homemade baked refreshments and thank you for those who attended last night. It was lovely to hear your positive feedback and look forward to developing this networking event through the future Cohorts.

~ Introducing our new Third in Charge~
"My name is Kayleigh. I have worked within childcare for 10 years, working in various roles from starting my career as an apprentice, preschool room leader, baby room leader and deputy manager. I enjoy working with all ages and watch children develop and grow in their own way. I have worked with children with SEND throughout the years and have loved being part of their nursery journeys. Myself and my husband have spent the past few years being mechanics for the British Superbikes motorcycle racing championships travelling all over the UK. We also enjoy going to the Isle of Man for the TT. We have a gorgeous Akita called Kami who keeps us on our toes. I hope to bring my experience and knowledge along to Miller Drive and I look forward to seeing all of the good things that are to come!"
Please come and say hello and introduce yourself to her when you come in the setting. Kayleigh will be working in all rooms alongside the management team.

The children have been working with Lesley to tidy and arrange our allotment. Today the children have enjoyed planting potatoes into their raised beds. They can't wait to water and look after them and see what happens next.
DONATIONS
We are looking for any donations towards our allotment, we are in need of a water butt and a compost bin and watering cans.

ππ World Earth Day Wednesday 22nd April 2026ππ
On Wednesday the nursery celebrated and recognised the importance of world earth day. Throughout the setting the children got to engage in a variety of activities to learn about our world and how we can look after it. This yearβs theme for World Earth Day is βOur Power, Our Planetβ focusing on the hard work we put in to looking after our planet. The children had learning opportunities around pollution and how we can look after our oceans and where rubbish belongs, how we can process our rubbish for example using our food waste bins, recycling bin and general waste bins throughout our nursery. The children learnt about how we can help save water by turning off the taps in the bathroom, and reusing water from a water butt to water our plants in our allotment.
Our nursery is working hard on sustainability, and World Earth Day has been an excellent day to help learn and embed those skills which we have already been practicing.
