🧵🌈 Threading Fun! 🌈🧵

Our children have been busy developing their fine motor skills through threading activities! 👏✨

Threading is a fantastic activity for little hands as it encourages children to carefully pick up and hold the pieces, coordinate their hands and eyes, and accurately guide the thread through the small holes. 👐👀

As they thread, our children are developing their hand-eye coordination, concentration, finger strength and dexterity – all important skills that support their future learning and independence. 💪🧠

Activities like threading also encourage patience and perseverance as the children work hard to complete their creations. ⭐

🌧️☔ Who says rainy days can’t be fun?! ☔🌧️

The rain certainly didn’t stop us from getting outside and having lots of fun! Our children absolutely loved splashing in the puddles, jumping in muddy water and getting stuck into some messy outdoor play. 💦👢

The mud kitchen was a huge hit, with the children busy making their very own mud pies, muddy cakes and delicious-looking creations! 🥧🪵🌿 Their imaginations were running wild as they explored, experimented and enjoyed getting wonderfully messy.

We believe that there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing! 🌈☔ Getting outside in all weathers gives our children the opportunity to explore nature, develop their physical skills, use their imaginations and, most importantly, have FUN!

Our little ones are growing,
It’s hard to believe it’s true,
The time has come to say goodbye,
And start something bright and new.

From tiny steps and first big words,
To laughter, games and play,
We’ve watched you learn and grow each day,
And blossom on your way.

Now it’s time to spread your wings,
Your journey has begun,
With books to read and friends to make,
And lots of learning fun!

So walk into Reception,
With smiles upon your face,
Be brave, be kind, believe in you,
And shine in every place.

We’ll miss your little faces,
Your giggles and your cheer,

🎉🌈 CARNIVAL WEEK AT NURSERY! 🌈🎉

Last week, we had a fantastic time celebrating Carnival Week at nursery! The children enjoyed a week full of colour, music, creativity, dancing and lots of exciting sensory experiences. 🥳💃🎶

The children got creative making their very own musical instruments, experimenting with different sounds and rhythms. They also designed and decorated their own carnival masks, using lots of different colours and materials to create some amazing designs! 🎭🥁🎨

We couldn’t have Carnival Week without plenty of dancing and music! The children loved moving to the music, showing off their best dance moves and joining in with the fun and excitement of carnival celebrations. 💃🕺🎶

We also went on a little taste adventure around the world, exploring and tasting a variety of different fruits. This gave the children the opportunity to experience new tastes, smells, colours and textures while learning that foods can be enjoyed all around the world. 🌎🍍🍌🍊

And, of course, there was plenty of messy play! Our carnival-themed messy trays provided lots of opportunities for the children to explore, investigate and get stuck in. 👐✨

What a wonderful week of music, movement, creativity, exploration and fun! We loved seeing the children's imaginations come to life and watching them enjoy every moment of our Carnival celebrations. ❤️🎉

⚽🎾 Sport Week ⚽🎾

What an action-packed time we’ve had at nursery celebrating all things sport! 🌟

Our children have been getting active, trying new activities and, most importantly, having lots of fun! 💪😊

🚤 We’ve been decorating our very own boats and then racing them to see which one could sail the fastest!
⚽ We’ve practised our football skills, kicking, aiming and scoring goals!
🎾 We’ve had lots of fun with tennis, developing our hand-eye coordination and physical skills.
🏃‍♀️ We’ve been trampolining, jumping, balancing and building our confidence.
🥇 And of course, there have been plenty of opportunities for running, moving, cheering each other on and showing off our fantastic sporting skills!

Our sports activities have been a wonderful way to support the children's physical development, coordination, balance, confidence, teamwork and turn-taking, while encouraging them to stay active and have fun! 🌈❤️

💃✨ Sport Week ✨💃

Last week was Sport Week at nursery, and we wanted to dedicate a special post to our amazing dance teachers, Miss Aimee and Miss Lauren! 💃💃

Our children had the BEST time getting active through dance! 🎶 They loved learning new dance routines, copying movements and showing off their fantastic moves!

Miss Aimee and Miss Lauren also introduced scarves and musical instruments, which added even more fun, creativity and excitement to our sessions! 🧣🎵

Dance is such a wonderful way for our children to develop their coordination, balance, rhythm, confidence and listening skills, while also encouraging them to express themselves and have lots of fun! 🌟

A huge THANK YOU to Miss Aimee and Miss Lauren for making every session so exciting and engaging. The children absolutely loved dancing with you both! 🥰💃

We can't wait to see what you have planned for our next dance session! 🎶✨

🏃‍♀️ Tweenies Obstacle Course! 🌟

The Tweenies have been having lots of fun taking on their very own obstacle course! 🏃‍♂️💨 They climbed, crawled, balanced, jumped and navigated their way through each challenge, cheering each other on along the way! 👏🥰

Obstacle courses are a fantastic way to support children’s physical development while making learning fun.

We are so proud of our Tweenies for giving everything a go and showing such fantastic determination! ❤️🌈

🐾 Animal Week! 🐾

What a fantastic time we had celebrating Animal Week last week! 🐶🐱🐰🦁

We were so lucky to have the pleasure of meeting Noda, Victoria’s lovely dog! The children were so excited to meet her and had lots of fun learning how to be gentle and kind around animals. 🐕❤️

Throughout the week, the children enjoyed making their very own animal masks, getting creative with lots of gluing and sticking, exploring water trays, and getting stuck into a whole host of exciting animal-themed tuff trays! 🎨💦🐾

It was a wonderful week full of learning, creativity, sensory exploration and lots of fun! 🌟

A huge thank you to Victoria and Noda for coming to visit us! 🐶💕

🌞🌙 *THE SOLAR ECLIPSE!*🌙🌞

What an exciting day we’ve had in Tweenies as we got ready for tonight’s solar eclipse! ✨

The children learned that a solar eclipse happens when the Moon moves in front of the Sun, blocking some of the Sun’s light and making the sky appear much darker. 🌙☀️🌑

To get ready, the Tweenies got creative and made their very own eclipse viewers using card, foil and a cocktail stick! 🔭 They then headed out into the garden to practise safely viewing the Sun through their homemade pinhole viewers. They were fascinated to see how the light changed and loved exploring this amazing natural phenomenon.

The last major solar eclipse visible from the UK was on 11th August 1999, making tonight’s event a very exciting opportunity for our children to learn more about space and the world around them! 🌍✨

We’ve loved encouraging the children’s curiosity, language, understanding of the world and scientific thinking through this hands-on experience. 🚀🔭

📚✨ National Storytelling Week! ✨📚

What a wonderful time we had last week, celebrating National Storytelling Week at nursery! 🌟

The children have been getting creative making their very own crowns and magical wands 👑🪄, helping to bring their imaginations and favourite stories to life.

We have also enjoyed lots of exciting tuff tray activities inspired by some much-loved stories, including That’s Not My…, The Gruffalo and A Squash and a Squeeze! 🦊🌳🐭

Through these activities, the children have been encouraged to explore characters, retell familiar stories, use their imaginations and develop their own ideas through play. 📖💭

Storytelling has also provided wonderful opportunities to support the children's language and communication skills, helping them to learn new words, develop their vocabulary and build confidence when expressing themselves. It has also supported their social and play skills as they played alongside their friends and joined in with shared experiences. 🗣️❤️
