We have reduced the Pay As You Go (per class) fee to £7 per class. This includes your membership and insurance fees. If you are training once per week on a regular basis the monthly payment options are more cost effective, however we understand that some members are unable to train at least once per week on a regular basis: https://kenshinkai.org.uk/fees.aspx

What is the core?
The core is the foundation for your movements, enabling mobility in the upper and lower body, directing power efficiently to your limbs, and stabilizing your spine, ribcage, and pelvis against the stress of those movements, or of external forces exerted upon them.
Modern lifestyles are highly sedentary, meaning certain core muscles may become inactive. If you do not exercise your core muscles regularly, you will lose the ability to engage them instinctively when performing everyday movements such as bending and lifting. When this happens, other muscles may take over from them, which can lead to muscular imbalances, and possibly, injury in the longer term (e.g. lower-back pain). Core training helps to improve strength, stability, and mobility, reducing the likelihood of such imbalances developing.

Those of you that have been attending classes over the past few months will recognise that we are now including Physiotherapy exercises as part of the warm-up to assist those with minor Neck, Shoulder, Back and Knee problems. Most of the warm-up exercises we do are actually used by Physiotherapists but we have added a few more. Also members are reminded to inform club instructors if there is anything they cannot do at classes due to minor injures so that you can still attend and benefit from the class. Your body will benefit more than laying on the sofa watching TV!
