Oops signing can be messy!

While feeding herself a yoghurt, F saw a cow on her yoghurt pot... So signed cow... I never knew signing could be so messy!

Had the joy of seeing this former cub recently, he's now 11 years old 😍

His very premature birth meant damage to vocal chords affecting his ability to speak, but signing gave him a way to communicate alongside his voice coming through. Even crawling around at class connected to his oxygen tube did not hold him back. Love how his siblings also came to class in subsequent years to follow and the family continue to use signs at home as part of everyday life.

This is one of the most heartwarming examples I have ever heard from a LB cub ...

"Nursery have told me that X has befriended a hard of hearing child in the class. She in the only child who has the patience to watch the signing of this child, and respond with speech and signs. Apparently X also tries to include the child in activities, and helps the nursery workers in communicating with them.

I just want to let you know, that the skill that you have taught X has brought such enlightenment to another child’s life. The nursery have said that it has been wonderful watching their friendship develop" (2.5 yrs old)
