πΏ Β£5,000 Nature Park Grant Success! π
What a year! A small group of students passionate about sustainability have made a big difference. Their knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment have been truly inspirational and infectious!
With the support (and snacks!) of Mrs Moore and Mrs Corker, they have helped our college achieve the nationally recognised Woodland Trust Green Tree Schools Silver Award (Gold next!) and secure a Β£5,000 Nature Park grant.
The funding is helping us transform grey spaces into green areas that support wildlife, wellbeing and learning, as part of our developing whole-college sustainability strategy.
A huge thank you to everyone helping this project grow: Stewarts Garden Centres, our local family-run garden centre, for their generous compost donation, expert knowledge and practical advice; the Friends of Henry Cort Association, whose fundraising provided additional compost and a water butt; and our fantastic site team, whose time, skills, preparation, watering and ongoing care have been essential in turning the studentsβ ideas into reality.
It has been wonderful to see staff and tutor groups getting involved too. What began with a small group of students is now growing organically across the college.
Please help us keep it growing. We would love to hear from families, businesses and community groups able to offer plants, gardening materials, expertise or practical support. Contact the college to get involved.
