Autumn is well and truly here, which means our annual Craft Under Canvas Retreat is just around the corner! As we make the final arrangements we are excited to share an amazing opportunity for anyone still thinking about joining us....!

Many of you will be waiting for this wonderful news!! Our lovely silversmith Jess and family welcomed Baby Hallie Maeve to the world safely this week and all are doing well. We are all so excited to welcome this newest addition to The Makers Family, I’m sure it won’t be long til she’s helping Maggie run the place!!!

Five years — can you believe it? Today we’re celebrating a huge milestone for The Makers’ House, and it’s impossible not to feel completely overwhelmed (in the happiest way) thinking about everything that’s happened since we opened our doors. We’ve met amazing people, made lifelong friends, worked with brilliant tutors, and grown into a buzzing, kind, supportive and of course creative community.

It wouldn't be right to celebrate today without giving a HUGE thanks to our wonderful Liz who stepped in in the early days as a volunteer and gave so much time and love - without her I would have burnt out for sure and we would not be here today, and thats the truth. Last week Liz moved up waaaaay up north to be with her girls and we miss her tremendously but she will always be part of our Makers Family.

So many of you have told us how The Makers has been your happy place — somewhere to escape a tough day, try something new without pressure, or just enjoy a warm welcome and a few hours of pure creativity. Hearing that is the biggest reward of all. Riches come in many forms, and this community is ours.

Thank you — whether you’ve painted a mug, made some glass, celebrated a special occasion, been to an Uplands History group, bought a card, taken part in the Halloween Trail or simply stopped by for a chat. You’ve helped build something truly special, and I could not be more grateful.

Our annual wreath making is stuff of legends and family tradition and this year we have put aside some extra sessions for group sessions, perfect for WORK DO’s, GROUP CHRISTMAS PARTIES, or just to do a lovely GROUP SESSION WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY.
