Lounges in Cornwall are serving up free bowls of Corn Flakes, Bran Flakes or Rice Krispies for kids 🥣

Little Loungers Breakfast Clubs have been launched in cahoots with Kellogg’s.

The chain says it aims to help families by ensuring children start the day with something tasty, simple - and on the house.

Until term restarts in September, families popping into their local Lounge can make the most of a free Kellogg’s breakfast for children, complete with their choice of dairy or non‑dairy milk - 'no vouchers, no faff'.

Lounges in Cornwall:
Truro - 12 Princes Street, TR1 2ES
St Ives - Tretho, Wharf Road, TR26 1LF
Falmouth - Palacio, The Moor, TR11 3QA
Newquay - Concho, 16 Bank Street, TR7 1AY

That's it for another academic year, we have had lots of fun today including a special visit from Poppy with her tortoise, snake and gecko.

This afternoon the Bumblebees took part in their Leavers Sports Day and did an amazing job. It was so lovely to celebrate the end of their time with us. They have grown so much over their time with us, some almost three years. Thank you for the many kind words, cards, thoughtful and generous gifts they truly mean so much to us.

We now send them on to their next education adventure with our love and prayers.

We look forward to welcoming back our Ladybirds in September, some becoming Bumblebees, as well as many new children and their families.

We hope you all have a wonderful summer.

Water play has continued this week as the weather has stayed extremely warm. We created our own paddling pool on Friday morning, using tyres and a tarpaulin. The children were in their element as they were able to sit in it, lie in it, jump in it - and even pour jugs of it over their heads. One of our children even said "This is the best day ever!" - so we will definitely be recreating this on Monday and Tuesday next week.

The Bumblebees took their last trip to Treverne Care Home on Friday afternoon and spent some time planting cress seeds with the residents. We have thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the care home, and they have had such a positive impact on the children, giving them more confidence, and an opportunity to bond with different people. We are so grateful to the residents for having us visit them and we are very much looking forward to returning in the new academic year with our new Bumblebee cohort.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

What a beautiful week we have had weather wise - although arguably a little too hot at times. Daily routines were adjusted to ensure the children spent more time inside, doing calmer activities to stop them overheating.

Ice lollies have been a lovely afternoon treat, as well as freezing orange slices as a healthy, but cold, snack.

Water play has been available in abundance for the children, and we even had a large tray to dip our feet into - which was incredibly cooling.

As the weather continues to remain for the weekend, we hope you all manage to have a lovely time, as well as staying safe in this heat.

Top tips
Whether you’re in the garden, at the beach or on holiday this summer please keep water safety in mind:

child safety Be a water watcher and actively supervise children in and around the water at all times. Don’t rely on older children to supervise younger children.

child safety Don’t assume that because a child can swim, they will be safe. Even strong swimmers can get into difficulty quickly.

child safety Even if you’re not planning to be near the water, be alert to any water nearby and be mindful of children wandering off.

child safety Expect children to do unexpected things. They can’t be relied on to keep themselves safe, even if they say they can.

child safety Pick a bright coloured swimsuit so it’s easier to spot your child in the water.

child safety Cool baths are great for very hot kids, but stay with them at all times, just like you would with the paddling pool. Young children can drown in minutes and there’s no noise to alert you.

Summer water safety Splashing around is a great way to relax and cool down in the summer. But drowning happens quickly and often silently. So, it’s important you know how and where drowning happens and what you can do to prevent it. Top tips Whether you’re in the garden, at the beach or on holid...

Yesterday we held our summer fundraiser, which was a lovely afternoon of animals, fun, games and gunge!!

We were very lucky to have had a visit from Mark's Ark, along with a snake, spider, lizard and owl. It was fascinating to learn so many incredible facts, before getting to touch and hold the animals. The children were so brave, and Hannah was clearly in her element holding a Bosk Lizard! A humongous thank you to all of our families for attending, as well as our committee members for helping to run the event.

We recently advertised a 'Gunge the teacher' target, giving you the opportunity to see staff members gunged if we reached a certain amount. At the last tally, we had raised a whopping £430, meaning 7 teachers got gunged yesterday afternoon! 🤩 Please see Tapestry for the videos... Thank you all for your generosity!

We hope you have a wonderful, sunny weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday!
