From the Titanic Honour and Glory exhibition collection. Rare panel card/book post card of the Cunard Liner 'Carpathia.' The Carpathia under the command of Captain Rostron, came to the rescue of the Titanic's survivors.
Carpathia was 58 miles away from the Titanic's reported position. Captain Rostron turned his ship around, cut heating, lights and gave the Carpathia as much power on her engines as he possibly could. It would take him four hours to reach the Titanic's position, where he would rescue 705 survivors of the Titanic tragedy.

A rare unpublished photograph from the Titanic Honour and Glory exhibition collection. The photograph is from June 1929, which shows the starboard bow of the Titanic's sister ship Olympic in the North Atlantic Ocean.
It was on the starboard bow of the Titanic at 11:40pm, Sunday, April 14th 1912, Titanic collided with a North Atlantic iceberg.
On this 114th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, the photograph of the Olympic, gives an incredible insight into that tragic moment. A moment that changed history, a moment that must have felt incomprehensible for the lookouts and officers and crew on duty.
Our exhibition name Titanic Honour and Glory is very important in all we do. We proudly Honour the Titanic's passengers and crew, those who sadly lost their lives and those who survived. The Glory of the Titanic, as she was the largest, most luxurious and technologicaly advanced ocean liner of the time.

It was an honour to attend this evening's remembrance event. Our display featured a rare selection of Titanic artefacts, including a rare Steiff Bear, which belonged to Titanic's senior sixth engineer, William Young Moyes.
